Some of them (not all) led to frequent hasty judgements, and often misjudgements of people. This is a small part of the reason for moving them to the profile. The main reason, though, is that the amount of info displayed in our posts had become a huge resource drain. Not having all that info in the profile will improve the speed and performance of the site considerably.

I'm probably in the minority here, but if it's an either/or thing, my own preference would be for the gender, faith, and maybe political stuff to be in the posts, and the reps (or whatever they are now), blessings, health to be on the Profile page.

I just want to say how impressed I am with the way you are communicating, Raven, Nexia, and other staff members as well. I've been vocal about how poor communication has been on these forums, but y'all are really doing a very good job at keeping us updated and trying to get us answers. Thanks for that.
That is limited to technical questions. I suspect they won't be enthusiastically answering embarrassing questions, e.g. about policy. In addition, if the discussions where these decisions were made weren't secret, more people could assist answering questions. It is also clear that many people who should have answers to certain questions are absent. Moreover, if I were in charge (for which I don't think I have time) I would have made a Q&A with the answers in the OP, like I did for appeals during the semi-democratic period. There should be enough people with the knowledge to make and update a comprehensive original post for such a thread. The communication looks improvisatory. It seems to depend on individual initiatives. They are putting more effort in it than before, but they failed to develop a communication plan.

Are those icons more resource hogging than than big images ? Is clicking someone's profile to receive basic information not draining resources ?
Why have faith icons be removed from the post headers ? When debating religion it is useful to know the stance of other participants and if you don't know them you can also misjudge them.

Who would be enthusiastically answering embarrassing questions? I know of no human being that enthusiastically answers questions that are embarrassing. Do you? :D

How could you possibly know whether or not these decisions were made in secret? How could you possibly know that they weren't discussed with staff prior to the change? As the past generally serves as a good example of what is to come, (it often repeats itself dontchaknow), I think you and I could both attest to the fact that upper level staff will almost always discuss changes, with lower level staff prior to the changes being made. In fact there is plenty of evidence that this has happened. The CF Angels, currently headed by Gwenyfur (who is doing a great job) are helping people understand the changes. Staff are helping people who don't understand something. Everyone is doing their job. So, this seems like a lot of protestation about nothing, imho. Change is always difficult, but let's give things a try before we start griping about how awful it is. So far, I don't see anything too terrible taking place. There are a few mistakes but, they'll be correcting them as we go along.

It is also clear that many people who should have answers to certain questions are absent.

They're not absent. They're fixing things that everyone is complaining about. As for the Super A's, those who have answers are giving them, and to be honest, there's no reason other staff can't respond here too. Relax... give it time. It's just a forum. It'll still be here tomorrow, and if things aren't to your liking, they'll probably change again later. Such is the way of the web. Change is inevitable for growth to continue. Kind of like life eh?

Moreover, if I were in charge (for which I don't think I have time)

Well you're not, so time isn't really a factor is it? Those who are best for the job are at it, and the rest of us can just enjoy the fruits of their labor. :)

All the rest of this is just...... on a need to know basis isn't it? If we need to know, we'll know when it's important for us to know.

Have a nice week now, and try to smile ocassionally. It'll make you feel better, and that's not such a bad thing. :)

I have been told that they are, but there may alternative to having each icon individually in the postbit, yet still display them. We'll see, I guess.

Why do some people have more than one character in an oversized avatar ?

If you equip more than one body, you can have more than one character with Living Avatars. The final product is a single image, so the layering concerns with the old armoury system don't apply

Why are threads not displayed full screen (that is full width) ?
The default skin is not a fluid one. There are two fluid skins to choose from. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see a drop-down menu that says "CF2 Renew". Try one of the alternatives. I like "CF2 in the Moody Sky". It's a darker version, and is a lot easier on my eyes.

Why have staff titles been removed ?
They havne't been added back, yet. There's is a lot of configuration to complete, and the configuration that affects criticial functionality has highest priority.

Is there a way to return armory items???
There isn't a way at this time. The Living Avatar application will have to be modified by a programmer to make returns available. I'm not sure when we'll get that functionality.

What's going on with Chrisbot? Is he dead, is he working part-time, is he time-warping?

I'm getting email notifications today about PMs and friend requests I received last week, and daily summary notices for forums I'm subscribed to from several days ago. Will he still be with us and functioning properly at some point, or is this a fluke?

Hi!

I've got another question......

Is the "go" button at the bottom of the page going to be returning anytime soon, so that you don't have to go back to the to of the page to return to the forum?

Thank you for all the hard work everyone is doing to get this place all spruced up and shiny again!

Much of God's grace to you all......

lovesblessing;)

Good call on this. Let me second the request. The heirarchy at the bottom of the page was very, very useful.

Here, for example, there should be links at the bottom of the page for:

Announcements > Member Assistance > Member Assistance and Forum Features > Christian Forums

So you don't have to scroll all the way to the top of the page to click up into a forum.

Can someone explain to me what the Tags are and how they work. Remember....old blonde here!!!!

Each user can edit / add 2 tags to a thread.
So example this thread has the tags
blessings, blogs, characters, icons, mo love fo raven!, profiles, q&a, reps, upgrade

If you click on them, you will then find other threads that have the same tag.

So lets say there's a tag Earthquake in a thread in the Dream Section.
Clicking on that tag would then pull up all the other threads where someone added "Earthquake" to the thread tags.

Tags are used to help search for threads that discuss certain topics. Thread participants can add tags to the thread, and then anyone can search for threads with particular tags. It will take time for us all to get used to using the tags.
