• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

  • The rule regarding AI content has been updated. The rule now rules as follows:

Be sure to credit AI when copying and pasting AI sources. Link to the site of the AI search, just like linking to an article.

If anyone is interested in devoting at least five hours per week to moderating duties within CF, the need is there for new moderators to join the CF staff.

Training is required for the job and based upon my own experience during training, a mod applicant can expect to spend around a maximum of 10-20 hours to complete the training. Of course your "mileage may vary", depending upon your personal situation, facility with the computer, etc.

CF's moderator training is the most comprehensive of any internet discussion site that I have encountered. If you can succeed as a mod at CF you can be a mod anywhere else, should that be something you are considering.

The requirements for applying are that you should have at least 200 posts in the last 3 months, with a number of substantial posts.

Note: Moderators are expected to be irenic in their responsibilities, even when dealing with situations that may conflict with their personal doctrinal views. Anyone still in the "cage stage" should think seriously about applying beforehand. ;)

If this sounds exciting to you, please consider submitting an application at the link above.

If you have questions I or someone on the CF staff will be happy to try and answer them in this thread or via PM.

If you are hesitating about applying feel free to PM me and I will answer any questions I can about the job.

We have too few mods and they are woefully overworked on one of the world's largest Christian discussion sites. This is an opportunity to have some influence that will be felt across over 350,000 members and a large number of non-member lurkers. Few venues afford a person this sort of outreach.

Some assume that moderating is simply "checking the boxes" of rigid rules when in actuality it is an opportunity to provide counsel to others that will likely improve their walk of faith, specifically as it relates to Biblical principles of engaging others on matters of the faith. Your role would also keep CF a family safe environment as you summarily rid CF of the posts of the miscreant who would troll CF with objectionable content.

I ask that you think about becoming one of the "crossing guards" for the children of our Lord. This is a chance to have a direct voice in how CF operates.

Pray about this. Think about this.

I applied. They asked which forum, since you posted this here, I figured here.

Maybe I missed them. Where are your questions?

I've asked admin a few times in the last year or more. Can't ask in public.

I was a mod once and was told my moderating was just fine...

I do hope we find more mods though.
