I was watching a video recently that compared the original and new Spider-Man movies. The critic attacked the portrayal of the original Spider-Man and Mary Jane, basically saying Tobey Maguire's character had no real personal growth and MJ had no depth. I loved the original Spider-Man and basically had the same reaction lol; I don't really like the new ones that much.

All I know is that they're wrong lol. I loved MJ and Harry especially. The dynamics of their relationship was perfect to me. I had coworkers who were marvel fans as well and we always argued about this because they said Toby didn't fit the comics or whatever ... I liked them a little bit less after that

I loved the original Spider-Man and basically had the same reaction lol; I don't really like the new ones that much.

To be fair I have only watched The Amazing Spider-Man. I didn't hate it but I just couldn't attach myself to the new franchise... The newest Spider-Man looks iffy. I'm glad someone agrees with me
