So glad to see the two of you deal with chatting about your ideas and submissions with no hard feelings on either part. You are a shining example of how we should ALL treat each other here on CF...with respect and dignity.


I, too, really like the current design, but look forward to seeing the new, final winner. Blessings to all of you for your time and effort for the good of all of us.

I hope it can always stay that way - getting along is always easy when we all agree or show support... the harder part is when things don't go our way.

Anyways, I have a stupid question, do we post our examples here on this thread??
If so, can someone tell me how to post a graphic in a post here? Do I have to link it from a separate website or what?

OOO Star!! I LOVE IT!!!! That is beautiful!! I didn't notice if you had a color scheme for the headers but I think that minty green of the leaves would be perfect(if you did, sorry! I didn't see it!)

I love this one! It's really funky! I love the green idea seen in a few of the designs, which are all amazing by the way! Very talented people out there!

For me StarJewel's really stands on this thread! However IMHO it can be perfected. There is something not *quite* right yet with the colour scheme, maybe something to think about there. Also maybe a better "world" would be found? The proportions on that one seem a bit strange.
I do like the crossed nails, the cup... But StarJewel's design is more unique and memorable IMO.

Hi Yes, I guess you're right about the colors... I think the problem is with the gray background, but I'm not sure... As for the world, what's strange about the proportions? I made it so that the proportions are exactly identical as the real ones...

As for the other things, I think that CF is something different for you than it is for me... For me, CF is mostly just a place where I can meet and interact with friends... sometimes I take part in debates, but for me debates aren't the essence of CF...

I really enjoy this design. I like how the heavens were included because it reminds me of God's great Creation, the earth too. I like the cross for obvious questions and the font used on CF is very nice. Clean and clearly read. The vines remind me of how Jesus is the vine and we are the grapes. Nicely done! This would be my choice for the site.

Oh, you're right, of course. Perhaps it would have been more acurate to say that the logo shouldn't be representative of just one aspect of CF but more universal, as yours is.

I like the idea of changing the silver to bronze - but that might be more trouble than anyone wants to go to........ i don't like the current magenta/navy/teal thing, to me it's kinda dated...... shades of the late eighties/early nineties decorating styles - yikes, my church still has mauve chairs and burgundy carpet......

Unfortunately, carpeting and chairs/pews are so expensive to replace. We still have orange!

Are they going to change the overall color scheme to match the chosen submission? Because if that's the case, the colors don't matter so much, but if NOT ... we would then need to blend with the existing silver tones....

Thanks for telling me about what you don't like it in... I'll keep it in mind next time I try to make a logo for CF. I had no idea what to do with the gray metallic background, that's why I decided to stay with it. Maybe I'll think of something interesting before the competition ends....

I agree, Starjewel -- for me debate is the last reason I'm here even though CF rules have relegated some of my deepest held beliefs to the basement of the forum (debate section). My advice is never even mind criticisms which are merely motivated by someone else's private aesthetic. Such things in no way reflect upon the quality of your work. Some people don't care for Edward Hopper's style, or Mondrian's, but that doesn't diminish their greatness. As a professional web developer in marketing, personally AND professionally, I think you've captured the essence of CF and shown real branding savvy in your work. Commendable. And I would think as much even if I did not care for your personal style (but as it happens, I like! I like!)
