How to politely ask a girl out:
***Note: this only works in situations where both people have proper etiquette***

Guy: excuse me, but aren't you (insert Generic Girl's Name)?

Girl: No, my name is (insert her name here)

Guy: oh, you bear a striking resemblance to a girl that I knew from (insert place here). She was quite a lovely person. It's quite funny really, when things like this happen.

Girl: I guess so.

Guy: My name is (insert your name), I am terribly sorry for bothering you. In fact, could I make it up to by taking you to (insert coffee, tea, lunch, or dinner).

Girl: well, I'm actually quite busy at the moment.

Guy: well, I'd hate to have bothered you and not try to make amends. Here is my cell number (hand her a personal card, aka a business card without company info, which can be purchased very cheap at vistaprint.com) . Call me when you are free and we'll (insert whatever activity here).

Guy: oh, and by the way, I hope I am not being too forward but I do believe that you are quite stunning, even more so than (insert previously random generic girl's name here)

Guy: (smile and briskly walk away as if you have somewhere to be. Look back only once when you are sure she is looking at you. politely smile, not at her, but in general expression. only stop or return if she calls out to you.)

What does the SA Do that? there was this amazing young lady last year that was a bell ringer, got to talk to her while she was ringing the bell outside my store, and then in it... if I had know that was the only weekend there, I would have gotten her number...oh well lost opportunities and such...

Did you mean 'why' or 'where'? I'm in Delaware, and I've always seen ringers everywhere around the entire state. I know what you mean, I wish I had an excuse to hang around the same store this coming weekend to see if he walks by lol.

True Gentlemen are few and far between nowadays. :smarty:

{Remember, a Gentleman or Proper Lady asks the other person on a date (aka a meeting, possiby to get to know one another), not a "hookup", which happens all too frequently nowadays. } :preach:

Blargh, no! Too cheesy and obvious. I much prefer your previous approach that you posted earlier :)

different women respond to different approaches. But, I also prefer the genuine approach.

I can be very creative. But I love simplicity and efficiency. If I have to be creative, I must ask, why?
I consider myself to be a deep thinker, a modern philosopher perhaps, I think logically and creatively. If a guy were to ask me out I would like them to at least put some sort of thought into how they would ask. If it's just a spur of the moment and dull, then I see no reason for them to be worth my time. Call me a snob if you must, but I feel that I have the right to be picky after the things I have gone through.

Best way forward, just be normal.
"Hey, would you like to go out to (place) sometime?".
There, done. Simple, efficient.

aw, but where is the fun & romance in that?

That would make a boring "How I met your Mother" Story.

better to have a genuine romantic meeting, maybe candles, white table clothes, crystal stemware, silver flatware, real china tableware. A guy with a violin, good lighting, (not dark, but not fluorescent). Polite waiters, and hostesses, opening and holding doors for her, good conversation, laughs, and romance in the air. ending with a (on the first date) kiss on the cheek, or for a little extra flare, the back of the hand.

The guy should be paying for any activity you do together till you start dating then if the women asks to pay every once in a while its ok for her to. IMO

Oh I agree. I have no problem taking my man out and treating him for a steak dinner. I don't mind pulling my own weight. But I do prefer him to buy ME reeses pieces and pop corn at the movies. This is non negotiable ;)

"Excuse me miss, I have been asking myself how to come up to you. I decided that not to would be a mistake. I was wondering if I may be so bold as to ask, would you be interested in joining me for a cup of tea sometime?"
Do? :D

And no, that's not due to you being a "snob" of any kind. That's just how I talk. ;)

Age and experience has a lot to do with it, too. The younger and more inexperienced you are, the more likely that you'll swoon at a wider range of pickup lines. Once you've lived a while, though, it gets a bit harder to impress someone with the same ol' same ol' :)

:p That would suffice more than "Hey, would you like to go see (insert movie here)"

I do like that way of speaking though.
