just a question, don't mean anything by it.

I clicked on the Donate button to try and find out more about Premium accounts (which I didn't find there btw) and I saw the donation goal for the month is:

$10,000,000

What in the world does CF do that it needs that much money for? Or is that just a goal that is never meant to be reached?

I believe that the "goal" serves as a cap limit for the website. So, for example, if they posted a goal of $1,000 then the donation cap limit would be only $1,000. Setting it to a ridiculous amount ensures that there won't be a cap limit.

Just a guess.

Makes sense. I am in no way trying to stir up anything, just saw the 1 followed by a lot of zeroes and was like huh?

Ha, I never even noticed that before and I'm on staff

I'd say that tstor's theory is probably the right one.

It does make sense, I saw it though and rubbed my eyes a few times to ensure I wasn't seeing things lol

This is correct. We have no expectations of achieving the $10,000. I can change it to $1,000,000,000 if you all would like and we can try for that :)

If we got that, can I get paid?

Good gravy, Newgrounds currently has a monthly goal of $6,000 and it happens to be a massive website hosting thousands upon thousands of flash games, animations, music, art, as well as forums, blogs, and contests.

What in the world would a forum with a simple blog system need $10,000 a month for?!
good question, considering that the staff is volunteer, the site is not a stand-alone entity, and the site also runs ads to generate income.

I don't mind being a site supporter to help pay for the site, but a budget of 10K a month seems pretty expensive.

Its not a budget. To be honest, I had no idea it was even set to that. The donation button is there for anyone that wishes to donate. Simple. There is no expectations or goals.

We are using an add-on that we did not have created so we work within the features of it. Unfortunately, in order for it to work you have to enter a number for a goal. So I chose a high number that was probably never going to be reached in order to not prevent someone from donating if a smaller number was hit.

Well then, the next logical question would be whether CF can opt out of the add on, continue to use the existing Site Supporter button which already exists, and add to that an option for unlimited gifts?
Why do we need to reinvent the wheel?

There is no reinventing the wheel. The site supporter user upgrades link give something in return for supporting the site. The donation link is simply that. A donation.
