What happned to me is that I have low muscle tone..and the doctors said if they had to though it into a basket it would be cp..lucky for me nothing that could be noticed has changed thanks to years of psycial and speeh therapy. The only thing u can notice of it now is that i have a semi-nasel sounding voice and i can't say r or l very well..but that's just about it. People harass me sometimes but it doesn't realy bother me i have a gpa in the low 80s and i'm going for an interview for my first job as a nurse assistant..so what i'm trying to say is don't let it get u down

Well, to be honest, if God gave me an option, I'd lose the CP in a second. Seeing how I don't have a say, I've chosen to make the best of life.
As you age, you'll have more aches and pains and tire faster. I'm only 52, which may sound old to most of you. Although my health seems good, my pains and stimina loss leeaves me feeling closer to 70 at times.

It doesn't bother me in the least. I pay aches and pain no attention and go on with my life. I guess people think I'm crazy when I say I'd rather live with CP than without, well, I know that it will be healed when God calls me to heaven and it just provides a way for me to be that much more different than anyone else. With that said, I have more to be thankful for than anything else.

You aren't in your 50s yet and haven't pushed your body to perform for as long as I have. Besides, men often find acceptance easier than disabled women. That's just life. I observed that in college.

I think that's because men are more judementy as woman just go by persoanity..but i could be comeplty worng

I have mild spastic cerebral palsy. It's cool to find other people who have it. Sometimes I just feel so freakin' alone. *sigh* I'd love to talk to you sometime.

But it has also turned into a wonderful Outreach ministry for me-- I now speak nationally on the issue of BULLYING in schools. I also go to Churches and Youth Groups with testimony. Thanks for this thread and God bless you all !!!!

I have CP. I don't look at my disAbility as a bad thing. I am a person who uses a wheelchair. We all have stuff we must deal with in life. There are many similarities and blessings along the way for all of us. I know that I am preaching to the choir. I can tell you have a positive outlook. Keep rocking and rolling, Justin.

Hi Justin, I am new to this site. I have CP Too. I can walk with a cain and uses a wheelchair for long distance. I am able to drive and worK. I was in a car acc. two yrs ago n had 2 neck surgery. lol God does have a sence of humor. I'm almost back to almost 100% Through it all I never blame God for my disability nor the Car rack. I am very bless to have wonderful family and friends. Even though I'm in 24/7 pain because of the car ass. I'm in very good spirit.

hello Justin, i have cp. mine is moderate, however i have no learning disabilities. it affects my speech and my left side. i am a certified mechanic, im 34 year old male and i share this account with my wife who had a stroke at a very young age and never recovered. we make a pair of hands. thank you for posting here. its hard to find people with same disabilities that understand. get back to me i bet we could be buddies.
