  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Go read the Bible AL, it is all explained in there.
You havnt the ability to comprehend without adding your pre conceived ignorance to any commentaries, my time is more valuable than that.
Is the OT the Word of God?

It says to kill homosexuals, disobedient children and adulterers. Are these moral punishments?

Two simple questions. They shouldn't take too much of your valuable time to answer.

I'll try...

Is the OT the Word of God? - Yes.

Are these moral punishments? - Not for us today in this society.

For somebody who claims, or at the least judges Christianity, Argy hasnt a clue as to what Christianity is.
I am sure he and many other atheists around here dont realise the OT is a Jewish book for the Jews, as I am sure they havnt realised that the consequence of sin is death.
Sadly they read only the parts of the bible that justify their respective ignorance and flat out refuse to leave their pre conceived ideas.
The atheists actions are much the same as the actions of the Pharisees.
Argy wants to be served answers like a spoon fed child, its no way for an adult to act.
Again Argy if you want the truth why not go sit down with a Pastor of a local church.
The wages of sin is death, thats the fact.
The problem in the Old Testament is the law states that everybody deserves to die, the law is impossible. Every child is disobedient.
But thats the law.
The law cant be any other way.

We look to Jesus. He fulfilled the law.

Okay, if Jesus fulfilled the law that caused disobedient children to be killed then he also fulfilled the law that delivered the punishment for Adam and Eve's sin. In other words, he abilished original sin. Hence there was no need for Jesus blood sacrifice, no?

He fulfilled the law by being the sacrifice. He did not end the law.
He was killed for other peoples sin/disobedience.

Argy you have no idea at all what Christianity is. I refuse to waste my time with somebody so ignorant.
Its like trying to teach a child to read, yet they dont know what letters of the alphabet are.

He fulfilled the law by being the sacrifice.
So why are we penalised for original sin?

He did not end the law.
So it is still legal to kill homosexuals, disobedient children and adulterers?

The thing is, you don't understand enough to be able to answer my questions.

So why are we penalised for original sin?
Because its the law

No

No, you dont understand the fundamentals and your own preconceived arrogant foolishness stops you from finding out the real answers.
I cant explain the truth because you refuse it, your preconceived ideas are all wrong, but you cant see that. Dont blame me.
You are trying to be a mechanic building an engine though your instructions are those of an Airfix model aeroplane

The fact that you wont find somebody to discuss this with you, proves you dont care. Christianity in a nutshell doesnt exist.

The answer is Jesus at the cross.
