As I said on the other thread on this article, I doubt that the CDC can be certain that the church was the source of the infections. In a small town people interact at places other than just church.
Most of the infections (including pastor and wife) ... were those who had attended church functions ...

DONT GO TO CHURCH! It's EVIL I tell you! EVIL!

They are full of people who would dare to talk about FOLLOWING in the footsteps of CHRIST and this is evil piled upon evil I tell you.

They are PERPETUATING DEATH!

We should start killing them perhaps... just rid this world of this horror that has been perpetuated on the good citizens of this world, that teaches man that GOD is more IMPORTANT than even their own lives!

What HORROR! How can men worship government and see government as their savior if they already HAVE a Savior and have NO FEAR of death??????!!!!!?????

Let's make a thread in every social media site, ESPECIALLY those calling themselves CHRISTIAN and put the FEAR into them of temporal death to combat such NONSENSE!

(*sarcasm)
Don't you think that people should know the risks inherent in their potential actions ?

Or ... should they be shielded from that information ?

I don't think they should fear the loss of their life in this body more than they love God.

To me Christianity is a choice. We can serve God due to our great love of Him, or we can serve our own temporal interests.

If we are hiding under rocks screaming fear of everything but God, we arent living the life God gave us to live while we have it and we certainly aren't glorfying God with that life. we are hiding our light under a bushel, instead of bringing it out for all to see.

Nothing, not one thing you will do will add another day to your life, no amount of begging will get you an extra day to make it all right.... you have but one life, and your days are numbered.

The question is always, do we serve God, or do we serve self.

If we are Christian the answer is simple. If we are of this world the answer is quite simple.

The only question is how we as individuals answer it.

The invitation is given to unbelievers. Repentance is demanded from the unfaithful. Glory is reserved for the elect of God.

It's more than only action, but it IS action besides... as James said, I'll show you my faith through my works.

This life isn't the be all end all... but what we do and the choices we make during it will determine everything.

Are you speaking only of believers, ... or also unbelievers, whose lives and health are also affected ?

In addition to the 35 who were infected at the Arkansas church, ... 25 other townspeople were also infected.

I don't think viruses are specific to only non Christians, of course there's risk to all...

Why even bother asking me this stupid question? We are all people after all...

That doesn't change the fact we shouldn't be holed up in our homes fearing death instead of out doing the work of God...

In your cited text ... James was speaking of works of LOVE ... shown forth to the world ...

James 2

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that? 17 So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.

Yes.

So during this coronavirus, who is out doing God's work?

Who is edifying and teaching the Body? Who is administering the sacraments? Who is loving their brethren and giving them support?

Who is sharing Christ with the lost? Checking on the elderly? Feeding the hungry?

No. Everyone is locked inside their homes fearing death, binge watching fear on t.v., glued to the internet spreading the fear they ate for breakfast......

a few food pantries are operating and thats it.....

And what is the work of God ?

Luke 4

16 Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. As was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath. And when He stood up to read, 17 the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written ...

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me,
because He has anointed Me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to release the oppressed,

19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

20 Then He rolled up the scroll, returned it to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on Him, 21 and He began by saying, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

John 14

12 Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Are you doing that? Are you declaring the Lord to, I don't know... anyone?

Or are you on the internet declaring fear and death?

I see fear and death and fear and death and more fear and death coming from your fingers.

Nothing about the fact our Lord has SET US FREE from SIN and DEATH.. you know - the only death that matters, the one that's permanent.

The church is still doing the work of God. For instance, I and my congregation still minister to these needs.

But we don't generally do it ... from inside a building.

So, you don't meet with and encourage the brethren in person? EVER?

You don't meet together for the breaking of bread, as commanded in scripture?

You don't baptize in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, EVER?

You don't meet with the sick in person? EVER?

Go visit people you know to engage with them about Christ, EVER?

You don't meet with others to determine their needs, EVER?

You don't pass out meals to those in need, or help the elderly and widows around their house with chores? EVER?

You never ever do any of that?

All of it requires exposure to you know, VIRUSES!

I am reaching out to the unsaved ... and offering support and encouragement to my brethren.

(since I recently experienced being ill with COVID, I am just now beginning to make physical visits again)

I have also been led to inform my brethren, in some measure, of the truth regarding their potential actions during this pandemic. I would be aghast to come to know that even one had died, ... because I hesitated to provide such information.

I've done ... and do ... all of that, ... and have been doing so for 40 years, or so.

I have, however, taken a two month hiatus from meeting physically with as many people, so as to avoid potentially passing on to them a deadly illness ...

So, the Christian walk comes and goes as the wind blows, and all these things are unimportant and can wait?

Here's my issue, and my point. People don't just stop because there's a disease about...

In fact, during this pandemic problems usually pile on top of problems. We now have more unemployment than at any point in this nation in our lifetimes...

The sick are still sick, and getting sicker. You've locked them in their homes, blaming everything on them, and then refuse to be a comfort to them when they need the most comfort.

Your throwing people away like yesterday's garbage, because, like, you care so much for them...

You've destroyed the economy, made people starve in their names, and then thrown them away because they don't matter, just power and control... and for what?

A few extra days they don't even want, that they know they can't have.

And then, then you say they are PERPETUATING DEATH because they just want to be around their brothers and sisters in Christ... because they have no one else on earth.
