LOL.
Because treating Darwin as an infallible demigod isn't limiting.
I'll drink a Dew right after you provide a link to your mythological treatise on logic.
Generally speaking, the objective of the Nyaya school is to create a "concrete method of discriminating valid knowledge from invalid..." (Tigunait, 69), as well as truth from falsehood using the tools of logic and discursive reasoning.
In old Sanskrit we find no word exactly corresponding to the term 'philosophy'. The word which had some rough correspondence to it was 'anvikshiki' which means 'that which reviews'. At first it meant only logic for logic brought under review all propositions put forward by various thinkers. This promoted skepticism. Orthodox Hindu philosophers therefore began discountenancing the science of logic. They even ceased to use the term 'anvikshiki', and invented a new term 'darshan' in its place.
That link is broken but I'm guessing it's not a 6th century B.C. treatise on logic.
From your link: "In old Sanskrit we find no word exactly corresponding to the term 'philosophy'. The word which had some rough correspondence to it was 'anvikshiki' which means 'that which reviews'."
That link is broken but I'm guessing it's not a 6th century B.C. treatise on logic.
As I said, and as everybody on Earth (except you and a few others) knows, Aristotle was the first (whose works survive) to formalize logic in writing.
I'm guessing it'll be a long time before I ever drink a Dew again.
You've already quoted me specifying writing claims: http://www.christianforums.com/t7450310-9/#post54342107You never specified writing up until now.
Aristotle invented Aristotelian logic by compiling elements from prior sources (Pythagoras and Zeno of Elea). You claimed he invented it -- up until you claimed that Aristotelian logic predated Aristotle.
Grammar fail.Which was does time flow in your world, Ag?
F.Y.I. If you guys would just stop feeding Agonaces of Susa, he would get bored and leave to find another bridge to live under.
Just saying...
FYI(And I'm not even a Christian.)
You've already quoted me specifying writing claims: http://www.christianforums.com/t7450310-9/#post54342107
Short term what?
Aristotle invented Aristotelian logic by compiling elements from prior sources (Pythagoras and Zeno of Elea).
Logic is a Greek word not an Indian word.
Allow me to quote your infallible atheist Holy Scriptures.
Logic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If this gymnosophist learned some Greek Logikos when Pythagoras travelled to India we have no evidence of it.
How could he learn logic from Pythagoras when Aristotle did not invent it until several centuries later?
Well I guess since we don't have it or need it in writing, the Atlanteans must've invented the space shuttle.Ah -- only things in writing exist. Gotcha.
That wouldn't make me wrong because I actually agree with that.I would have to say that you are wrong. Aristotle did not invent logic, it was the super advanced race of humans that lived long before Aristotle. He just plagiarized their works.
I already explained this here: http://www.christianforums.com/t7450310-11/#post54342472How could he learn logic from Pythagoras when Aristotle did not invent it until several centuries later?
Pythagoras (who was a contemporary of your alleged gymnosophist and who I'll grant learned some logic from Egypt and India) and Zeno of Elea used elements of what we call Aristotelian Logic but neither wrote a work on logic.
As I said, and as everybody on Earth (except you and a few others) knows, Aristotle was the first (whose works survive) to formalize logic in writing.
Aristotle invented Aristotelian logic by compiling elements from prior sources (Pythagoras and Zeno of Elea).
Centauroids are from the Centauri system...Hey, Ag, which planet were the sphinxes from?
That wouldn't make me wrong because I actually agree with that.
However, since you don't, you have to concede Aristotle invented logic which is why it's called Aristotelian logic.
Centauroids are from the Centauri system...
