Yuri is what is called a tortoise shell, or 'tortie.' I am told that it is the least common of patterns in cats. They are known for their attitude.

Well, here's one I took with my camera phone...so it's not a good pic...

See how her right ear has a notch in it? Well, since I took this picture she has acquired a matching one in her left ear as well. I have no idea how. She's kind of a scrapper.

jeolmstead...you are so right. I have at times wondered if my cats would ever eat me if I weas the right size. Nah...cats are too nice to do such a vile thing. Well, except for my one cat who likes to urinate on our couches. :-(

Walk_by_faith (me wife) speaks the truth. Our niece is heartbroken because her pet cat died in an apartment fire yesterday. Tragic but at least no human life was lost!

Not so bad a pic. I wonder if the other notch was intentional for balance? A scrapper...that's a tortie for ya!

I'll tell ya, the Vets handle Yuri with respect and caution. I hate when I have to give her medicine. When she is sick, not so bad, but when she starts feeling better, look out! 19 years old and she can still be a handful.
