That is flat out gross.Nothing to see here, the vendor in that video is roasting guinea pigs, not rats. It's not just street vendors that cook them in New York; some restaurants also have them on the menu. The article below is from ten years ago.
How guinea pig, an Andean delicacy, is making its way onto dinner plates in the US
You can even buy frozen guinea pigs online
DEL CAMPO Jumbo Super Cuy/ JUMBO GUINEA PIG x10 unit.
I had a pet guinea pig when I was a child. We kept in the garage because it smelled so bad. We had to clean the cage often or the smell would permeate the house. When it comes to eating them, I'm not sure which is worse, rats or guinea pigs; but it's rare that people keep rats as pets. I don't go grocery shopping for rodents at the pet store. Gross! That is flat out gross.
Yeah, I don't think I would like it either. However, when I first saw deep-fried day old chicks being sold in the Philippines, I thought that was pretty gross also, but once I tried them, they were pretty tasty. And at 3 for a little over 50 cents, a cheap snack. That is flat out gross.
So where does one buy live USDA inspected guinea pigs, ready for gutting, and turning on a rotisserie, for public consumption?Nothing to see here, the vendor in that video is roasting guinea pigs,

Does the health department send out an inspector to make sure that the pallets that they stole from outside of the chemical plant are burning at the proper temperature to kill off the microbes and parasites?
It's considered a delicacy in some countries. That is flat out gross.
Well... So is a lot of food regularly eaten by a lot of Americans depending on who you ask, so that's a very VERY subjective thing. That is flat out gross.
Some people are disgusted by pork consumption just to be fair.Well... So is a lot of food regularly eaten by a lot of Americans depending on who you ask, so that's a very VERY subjective thing.
Yep. As a side note, for something considered unusual food in the US, I actually like fried and dried crickets. And snake is damn delicious. But then again, I'm particular to chicken instead of red meat. Some people are disgusted by pork consumption just to be fair.

I would suggest trying snake if you ever get a chance. It's like tastier chicken in my opinion. Had it first time when I visited China in the 90s.Fascinating.
I probably wouldn’t try either of those.
No, thank you. I don’t think I could stomach it. LolI would suggest trying snake if you ever get a chance. It's like tastier chicken in my opinion. Had it first time when I visited China in the 90s.
