  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am thinking about buying a cat next week. Problem is, the cat will only be allowed inside on the tiles. We have a nice small backyard. Three quarters of it is surrounded by a huge cement rendered wall because there is a busy road next to it, but on one of the sides where there is a neighbour there is just a wooden fence.

How can I stop the cat from climbing it?

The only idea i have had so far is putting mesh at a 90 degree angle to the fence, would that work?

The cat would probably climb over the mesh if its determined enough.

What about putting a leash on it?! (The cat that is!)

FYI - I had a cat when living in an apartment - it was perfectly used to not going outside at all - except on rare occasions. Maybe you could train yours the same.

Cats make excellent pets! Enjoy.

How much tiled area is there? I mean, does that just exclude bedrooms or are we talking about maybe just the laundry or something? Personally I'd suggest that it would be a good idea to make it an inside cat if you live near a busy road - guaranteed the cat will explore, which could prove fatal

If the kitty litter smell is an issue - you can get this incredibly good kitty litter from kmart (in Australia) which is in a blue package - its all these white chrystal type things. I'm an inside cat veteran - trust me this stuff is incredible! But I think you can only get it from kmart
