How about (From the 60's & 70's)
I know they're Marionettes rather than Cartoons as such but still.

Thunderbirds
Joe 90
Stingray
Moonbase 1999 ?
etc.

Dude! Can you describe some of those? I vaguely remember some kind of marionette or claymation sci-fi type of series from back then, but it's so dim. I remember some kind of base that would go underground in case of attack (I think). I remember thinking they'd be such cool toys to have.

If we're talking claymation one has to include Davey & Goliath - a Christian cartoon and at my advanced age I can't remember a claymation series before it.

I'm sure you must know the Thunderbirds. There was a full-length Movie came out a few years ago with real actors.

Stingray was an Underwater cruiser but thatis about all I remember.

Joe 90 was a young boy who was super intelligent and he has these Spectacles that enhansed various abilities.

Moonbase 1999 was a base on the moon used to defend the earth from Aliens and as a research station.

There were others but while the disappearing base strikes a cord with me I can't remember which it was.
