carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero
“Harvest the day, give trust to the future as little as possible”
From Horace Odes 1:11
So what do you think? is it not a balance between planning and sponteneity?
A while back I was considering long term care insurance.
So we can have insurance in case we die, insurance in case we get sick or have an accident, and insurance in case we LIVE TOO LONG.
We can make all kinds of sacrifices in the present in the hope of bringing a better future. But nothing is certain.
I guess we all find ourselves on some kind of spectrum preferred "credula postero".
We can give up our favorite junk foods in hopes of a healthier future....or not.
We find our own level of due diligence.
The older I get the more "carpe" I become.
How about you?
