It's a passage from a book (Genesis) that Rick says can take a hike, yet whose buddy comes from an organization that is based on said passage, and wrote his own book that Rick is endorsing in the OP.
Your interpretation which is wrong. Again, pardon me for holding out a Christian hand.

So their were peer-reviewed scientific papers expressing the consensus of the scientific community that this would happen?
There was a war going on ... remember?

To whom?

Someone you guys are scaring into action?

I think the term is "crisis management."

Scientists are good at lighting fires; then putting them out, making themselves look like heroes.

If the average temperature of the oceans increased by three degrees, how would this impact our climate?

I don't know.

A guess right off the top of my head is that it would make more kinetic energy available for storms and thus make hurricanes and such more powerful.

But how is it the oceans can heat up, but not the land?

If the average temperature of the oceans increased by three degrees, wouldn't the average temperature of the land heat up as well?

Is it possible an increase in the oceans temperature in such a short time might be bad for species that live there? I wonder how a large scale aquatic mass extinction might effect the human food supply ecology?

By three degrees!??

I could heat my aquarium five degrees, and the fish would love it!

Wow! The temperature has gone up three degrees outside, just since I logged on.

Better call the fire department!

Chief Nicolas isn't too busy right now.

Yes, an average change in temperature by three degrees will have catastrophic effect on sea ecology. Global warming will have an effect on the salinity of the oceans, this is bad for marine species. But, just for the sake of the argument, if all were this were true, do you think it might effect the food supply for humans?

[Staff edit] Most of the heat is in fact being absorbed by the oceans, as well as CO2 which is increasing acidification. Many coral reefs are already decimated, including the Great Barrier Reef off Australia.

Ya ... that's kinda what we were discussing.

Remember my unanswered question?

"How is it the oceans are heating up and not the land?"

If you say so.

All because of a three degree rise in temperature?

My kiddie pool heats up three degrees all the time, and I don't see earth coming to an end there.

But if it were to cause the world to come to an end, would you attempt to do something about the temperature change in your kiddie pool?

No.

The world isn't going to come to an end according to your predictions.

The Bible is very explicit how this earth is going to come to an end.

And believe me, it's not you guys' way.

Actually there is an entire scientific application dedicated to that.
I have no doubt whatsoever that scientists can take three degrees of heat and turn them into an earth-shattering display of apocalyptic terror needing crisis management.

Are you aware that every single Academy of Science in the world confirms climate change? Are you aware that more than 97% of the published peer review research world wide shows climate change, not only occurring, but due to anthropogenic causes?

Do you think it's wrong to care about the environment?
Its a climate scam. Its all about political and financial gain. Sure we should not pollute our environment, but sadly politics are involved and so the issue is corrupted, as usual.

It doesn't take 3 degrees. The little Ice Age was a result of less than 1 deg. C. And BTW, when we talk about degrees we mean degrees Celsius (C), not Fahrenheit, (F).
