  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Can't wait for this!

I am always troubled when I hear the History channel involved with telling the masses anything about Jesus....Its usually skewed and fraught with innuendo and downright fallacies about the Lord, His purpose, etc...I always hold out hope, but end the end find so many biblical contradictions it becomes sickening and I never can finish the show..

I heard Roma Downey on a Christian program yesterday
and she was one involved in this...

she sounds as though this is a very great educational tool
for the peoples and nations, other religions, etc to see
what the Bible actually teaches...

I am hopeful it is...
and those who would not watch a religious channel
will be exposed to a Biblical movie..

not many Muslims would turn on TBN, sometimes I won't, LOL
but many people tune in to the history channel regularly

I understand and quite usually I avoid the History Channel on Jesus too. This seems different though. The people behind the show have no affliation with the History Channel that I know of, I think they just bought the timeslot to run their show. I do know you can buy the miniseries in DVD format as soon as March 3rd for around $45, so I feel as though this one may be different.
I plan on watching the first two hour show this Sunday which in all honesty will probably cover from the creation through the Exodus. I mean they are doing the entire Bible in only 10 hours so it'll have to move quickly. I believe I heard the last 2 showings (4 hours) will cover the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus) so you are looking at 6 for all of the OT.

Should be able to make a sound judgment on content within that first 2 hours. But the trailer seems promising.

Some sinners will never darken a church door, even if the welcome mat is out... if we did all our evangelistic efforts in the church basement, many would never hear the gospel... it is better to go where the sinners are if you want to win sinners... so this location of being on the history channel is one where sinners who never would have gone to church to see it, nor bought it at the store, will be exposed to it...

the history channel may be the 'highways and hedges' we were commanded to go to... LOL

Me too, that goes double for the BBC ( biased, bankrupt ( morally ) and Corrupt.
They are so anti God it shames me to admit it is an english institution.
