Can't sleep

Has anyone ever took the medication Abilify for their bipolar? I went to see a psychiatrist yesterday & he prescribed me some of that. I showed him all of the medications I'm on. I've been able to sleep fine until last night when I took my first Abilify.

I think I was on it about 8 years back for a few weeks. It was awesome! I did an entire summers worth of work in about 8 days working day and night and I felt AWESOME! Slept maybe 20 minutes the whole time!

Then, I had a HUGE panic attack and just about died in the doctors office. It went away after 2 or 3 hours- so monitor your responses very carefully. I wasn't that smart but it did give me the rest of the summer to go have fun!

Besides you can't sleep, Clowns will get you- I read that on a bathroom wall somewhere!

Let your doctor know you are not sleeping ,he can change the dose or the med . I have never used it before so I doe not have any insight to give you on that med .

I can't sleep without something for sleep. That's the kind of bipolar I have. Maybe you're not being able to sleep is temporary. Maybe your doc can prescribe something for sleep for temporary. All the best to you. Praying for your healing dear one.

I tried Abilify and it was a complete disaster. One pill and I thought I was going to die.

I use Seroquel to sleep and its been working great for about ten years. Of course everyone is different. It's generic now under the name Quietipine.

I take the generic Elavil (Sp)? It helps me sleep and stable my mood due to My sleep is so whacked that if I don't sleep I'm moody and definitely unable to deal...

Yes I've been on Abilify for about 9 months I think. It didn't work but I didn't have any troubles sleeping because of it.

Try it for sometime before you know if you are going to have some benefit from it. A mental health nurse described it as the Rolls Royce of mental health medications but like I said it didn't work for me.

I haven't watched "The Simpsons" in decades- in my book they "jumped the shark" a long time ago. I mean I literally read it on a bathroom wall- but then again in WW2 "Killroy was here" was EVERYWHERE as he became the WW 2 Meme- you might want to look him up, as "Killroy" was a real guy building ships in WW 2- he got tired of writing all over the ship's with chalk so he'd just make up that little comic as his signature buyoff.

Now, for a completely different but sensitive topic- has anyone noticed these drugs affecting their, ah,,,,intimate performance in the bedroom? I'm just curious
