• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I legit can't control my thoughts. I have such bad thoughts all the time, it started happening a month ago. I just want to be able to think about God again in a normal way. I just want to know I am forgiven for every messed up thing I've done or thought. Could anyone reading this please pray I can be freed from this and that my mind is completely transformed. Also could you comment what I can do to change this and think normally again?

God knows this isn't your fault and if you mess up, he is forgiving:blush:. Don't try to control them, it will only make it worse. Let them flow into the background. Look up Ali greymond videos on YouTube for more help.

Sounds like you are in a spiritual battle. recognize that those thoughts are not your thoughts unless you want them to be.

Satan has a habit of imitating your voice in your head, whispering things in your ears, messing with you. It is time to cast him out. Be more vigilant in your desire to be closer to God, than any sin that so easily besets you.

This is like Yeshua's 40 day battle in the wilderness, so know that you are not in this alone. The greatest temptations are also your greatest opportunity to win great battles in His name. This race you can win, with your eyes focused on Him alone, the things of this earth will grow strangely dim in the Light of His Glory and Grace.

God knows you don't want to think evil thoughts. Whenever they pop up, just pray "Lord I am binding these evil thoughts in your name. By your blood you have redeemed me. Release me from the grip of evil. Cast these thoughts into the pit from whence they came. In your holy name, Lord Jesus I commit my self to you.

The victory is yours today but never in your own strength as we have no power without JESUS (the Word). We need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds ROMANS 12:2. Temptation or bad thoughts are not sin until we dwell on them and make them our own. When temptation comes to the mind we are to cast them down and claim the promises of God's Word *2 CORINTHIANS 10:5; 2 PETER 1:3-4.

We are to transform our minds with the mind of Christ (the Word of God) and JESUS promises "IF we continue in his Word then we are his disciples indeed and we will know the truth and the truth will free us from our sins *JOHN 8:31-36. Our refuge is in the promises of God's Word as we believe and follow them and then God promises us that...

There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it
*1 CORINTHIANS 10:13.

Our job is to cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (the Word) *2 CORINTHIANS 10:5, resist the devil by relying on and believing God's Word and drawing near to God in prayer and he will flee from us *JAMES 4:7.

It is true also that we need to control what we eat and how much as this will be helpful in fighting the good fight of faith.

May you receive and believe God's Words and be blessed..

I struggled with this same issue of having negative thoughts about myself for
the longest time, till a few weeks ago when we had a time of repentance at church and
I asked Gods forgiveness for it and He took it from me! It took me a while to realize it
wasnt me who was doing better, but that Jesus set me free, ive had issues come up recently which normally would trigger them but not once did I.

Are you under the care of a psychiatrist? I myself also have OCD and struggle with obsessive, intrusive thoughts and images. OCD is tied to disruptions of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain which proper medication addresses. I encourage you to seek medical help for your condition as it has greatly relieved my symptoms. Your current experience is very, very typical of those with the disorder and are not an accurate reflection of your spiritual state and love for God.

Part of your post seems to indicate that you can not forgive yourself. This puts you into a no man's land and you have to find faith and know that the blood of Jesus takes care of your sin. Quit wrestling with yourself and God over this. As to a better future and more complete victory, find some Christian or church that can help you go deeper. I pray you got a clearer picture of how you are on the winning team, that you are restored and that your thoughts are ordered to God's word, with a more fuller understanding of the love that Jesus has for you.

What Tania11 and Samaritan Woman said! I've also struggled a lot with OCD, so I'm willing to share more about that or recommend some resources if you'd like.

You are not your thoughts! I guess I would be classified as a pure o. My ocd thoughts are always
ego-dystonic—meaning opposite of who I truly am. If your thoughts only bring you distress, anxiety, heartache and fear then they are not you. You would have peace if the thoughts were truly who you are.

Hey. Bless your heart. These kind of thoughts are so typical with OCD. I think some people who post replies may not have OCD and that can be difficult. Listen to me - YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT! No matter what you've thought, said, done. You are going to be ok. I've worried so much about this kind of thing. I've even said bad things. I realized something very important. God is love. Love wouldn't hurt you. God knows you at this point in time don't mean these bad thoughts. He knows your heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
