• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I wasn't sure where to post this. I feel depressed and I constantly worry about things and feel like people are out to get me. I believe in God and read the Bible for comfort. I also eat a lot too. I also enjoy drinking a lot of tea & sometimes, coffee and hot cooca.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he
~Proverbs 23:7~

Anxiety especially, I remember thinking that I had this or that, and sure enough I could see the symtoms. Anxiety and depression effects everyone differently, some eat, some can't. I lost 40 pounds about two years ago in a little over a month and a half because I couldn't eat and I was constantly throwing up because my anxiety was so high, the mere smell of food would make me sick.
With depression I know that your thoughts play a vital role also.
It's a mental illness, but definately affects you physically.

I know that depression/anxiety can make you ill. Especially anxiety. I've gotten stomachaches and exhaustion from it, and the only way to make them go away was to take some me-time and just try and get back into the groove of enjoying life instead of being stressed out by it. :hug:s Hope things look up for you.

It is possible to make yourself physically sick. I've done that soo many times. Mainly it happens to me because I let my mind race so much that I start to get stomach aches which make me want to throw up (yeah, sorry for the visual..lol). Most of the time, I think too much into things..and imagine things that arent going to happen.
I do agree with Caity. Its good to talk to others about it. I talked to the same person so many times about this stuff and he'd always tell me, "dont let your mind race because when it does it will hurt you"..and it does.
Talking to people on this is a good start..maybe find someone in your life who you feel comfortable with to talk about stuff like this with.
Hope you feel better!

+God Bless+

I'm the same with eating when I get overly anxious. I get to the point where I can't eat anything other than small amounts of rice because everything else makes me terribly sick.

Chrstn4ptsrc2me, as others have said, talking to a counsellor could help. Also make sure you take time out for you to remember (and do) the small things you enjoy.
