It is currently at 0.5 degrees above normal and I can't wait to see the June data posted on the satellite graphs. The #23 sunspot cycle was very low and the #24 cycle is e even lower.

The debate on agw isn't over I and many other people will speak out about the truth. In fact the public is not ignoent about the facts. Climategate proved that there are climate scientists who are corrupt and want to destroy the United States. Good for us that the temperature is going down and will continue to do so for a long time.

If you throw out the very warm El Nino year 1998, we have been at two and a half degrees warming average for twenty years.

This is the beginning of the global warming scare so much to early to say that the CO2 reductions worked. I am going to say that I believe the 23 Sun cycle following an even weaker 24 cycle is the best explaination.

In reality at that point temperatures were bound to increase in order to reach the previous normal range. After 170 years we are only know at that range. That was after a 550 year period of time of famine and death due primarily to the colder temperatures. The climate actually began cooling at the end of the Bronze age, warmed during the Roman period, then cooled further, warmed during the medieval ages, then cooled further. During the downturns civilizations fell, disease and death were the name of the game. During warmer periods man thrived. Where are we today? Somewhere between the temperatures of the medieval warm period and the Roman warm period but still far below the warm period during the Bronze age. In my view we are at the better place and there is still room to warm before there is any reason for alarm. I dismiss the alarmist out of hand as the evidence is not on their side and it is and has been since the inception the push towards more government power and the spread of socialism which ultimately falls to communism and despotism.

It's a cool plot, but this thread is about recent changes in climate (a "pause" decade or so in the warming), not about the 5000 year history of central Greenland, or socialism. (A working link is a welcome feature.)

It is more a cut and paste. I realized where you were going after I posted, sorry about that. But it does go to the facts regarding CC in general. Now for the pause, my understanding after much reading, the pause is related to natural cycles in sun activity.

It only used one set of tree ring proxy data and cherry picked the end by switching to the cherry picked data at the turn of the century. Where is the thirties and forties warming data. And I suspect you don't respect any criticism of the CO2 theroy which is scientifically an incorrect way to treat a theory.

I don't know quite what you mean by 'CO2 theroy' (or CO2 theory), but physics is physics.

I would love for it to be discovered that our current climate models are wrong and that anthropogenic CO2 is not causing a potentially disastrous increase in global temperature, but that would take new data, new models, and/or new explanations, not a Gish-gallop of PRATTs from some bloke on the internet.

As it happens, the more data we obtain, the more we see our models have underestimated the effects of anthropogenic CO2 on global temperatures, and the better we've been able to refine our explanations of those effects to produce more accurate models.

Looks like a decades long upward trend to me. Predicting the June values sounds like naval-gazing.

Oh I see you found a graph that gets rid of the MWP how convenient for you. Can you also get rid of the Holocene maximums ?
