I had a hunch you did my friend . But just wanted to remind us all . NOW TO the trenches my friend .I know
I agree
It does not matter. What matters is facts, reasoning and people who know what they are talking about.Well, I don't believe that.
Its not made up, you can learn more about it, google Leviathan mythos or mythical Leviathan.Having fun making stuff up?
Again, no reasoning from your side, just denial. There is no proper argument for a flat earth in the bible. That is just something people insult God with.
You claimed this "Every ancient near eastern person, if you showed them Genesis 1, would immediately say "Ah, the temple inauguration"It does not matter. What matters is facts, reasoning and people who know what they are talking about.
Again, let's look at the actual word. The first time I see it in the bible is in Job.Its not made up, you can learn about it, google Leviathan mythos or mythical Leviathan to learn more.
The fact that you do not see it has nothing to do with the fact that ancient people would see it.I see no Jewish temple in that verse. It is no use pretending that 'every ancient near east person' would!
It has nothing to do with any dinosaur. What are you quoting, some Ken Ham book or something? You can learn more about the biblical Leviathan here:Again, let's look at the actual word. The first time I see it in the bible is in Job.
"Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?"
The Hebrew definition for the word is this
"
leviathan, sea monster, dragon
Pagan mythos does not matter one whit. If I was going to consider a hunch or guess as to what the creature may be, I would first look to bible believers. One certainly would not look to unbelieving heathen myths to try and reinvent Scripture on that word!
- large aquatic animal
- perhaps the extinct dinosaur, plesiosaurus, exact meaning unknown"
They would not see a Jewish temple before there were Jews. I kid you notThe fact that you do not see it has nothing to do with the fact that ancient people would see it.
The definition from the Hebrew (Brown-Driver-Briggs') included several possible words actually. Bottom line is we do not know. Chew on that a whileIt has nothing to do with any dinosaur.
The concept of temples was known to the whole Near East (to the whole world, actually), not just to Jews. Also, Genesis is a Jewish book, written by Jews and to Jews, so it can contain Jewish concepts without any problem. They would not see a Jewish temple before there were Jews. I kid you not

When talking about the creation of all stars and sun and man, a Jewish temple is not what comes to mind. Especially when there is no mention of one. That is obviously not what it is talking about at all. (as dumb as you may think ancient peoples were)The concept of temples was known to the whole Near East (to the whole world, actually), not just to Jews. Also, Genesis is a Jewish book, written by Jews and to Jews, so it can contain Jewish concepts without any problem.
The first commentary I saw suggested it was talking about the leaders of Egypt in a figurative way. That also might apply to the flood. It certainly does not apply to creation! God did not kill things, He created them.Psalm 74 - God killed Leviathan during the creation of the world
You are talking about prophesy. Since you do not even believe in creation, your wild ideas about prophesy are devalued. Is 27:1 says God will kill Leviathan in the end, compare also to Job 3:8 - cursing will arouse Leviathan and it will be the end of days
Do not presume to tell us what it is. It seems to apply to several things. Certainly nothing that helps your anti creation crusade. It has nothing to do with a dinosaur, its a mythical creature with specific meaning and you seriously misunderstand the text, when you ignore the cultural context. Also, no dinosaur has multiple heads as Bible describes the Leviathan.
Foolishness. Creation was about life, not killing things. You are lost in space as far as context meaning and times.Jewish sources distinguish between a female Leviathan that was killed in the creation and a male Leviathan who will fight with God in the end.
What comes or does not come to your mind is irrelevant. You are not educated in the Near Eastern culture. What matters is what came to the ancient mind. God resting, 7 days cycles, its a temple inauguration. When talking about the creation of all stars and sun and man, a Jewish temple is not what comes to mind. Especially when there is no mention of one. That is obviously not what it is talking about at all. (as dumb as you may think ancient peoples were)
Maybe try to look deeper than just "the first commentary I saw".The first commentary I saw suggested it was talking about the leaders of Egypt in a figurative way. That also might apply to the flood. It certainly does not apply to creation! God did not kill things, He created them.
Feel free to explain why and how God will fight a literal dinosaur in the end times. I believe in creation, but not in Genesis 1 to be a scientific description. You are talking about prophesy. Since you do not even believe in creation, your wild ideas about prophesy are devalued.
No arguments from you, just another series of denials. You should check the sources I provided for you and react to them, specifically.Do not presume to tell us what it is. It seems to apply to several things. Certainly nothing that helps your anti creation crusade.
Foolishness. Creation was about life, not killing things. You are lost in space as far as context meaning and times.
Wow that looks like the History Channels lineup for today. Genesis was definitely ahead of its time. I do thank Jesus for confirming the words of Moses and the historical accuracy provided by him.Not in our meaning of a history book. Our history books do not have world-temple inaugurations, myths, legends, dramas etc.
Jesus said nothing about historical accuracy.Wow that looks like the History Channels lineup for today. Genesis was definitely ahead of its time. I do thank Jesus for confirming the words of Moses and the historical accuracy provided by him.
For me personally I would not allow someone to start the first grade if they did not understand the Hebrew alphabet and what the letters represent. During the 1,000 year reign I imagine that is the way things are going to be. A is the lead animal in a herd, B represents a tent or any dwelling, C represents a camel or trade, D represents the door and Jesus is the door. If you want to enter into the things of God than Jesus is the ONLY way because you have to enter in through the door.No. Sorry. No tents in Gen one despite your active imagination and desire to shove one in
You think that somewhere are people that know what they are talking about? We are told that Jesus is the way, truth and the light.hat matters is facts, reasoning and people who know what they are talking about.
Same with you. What is relevant is that the first verse of Genesis is about creation, not churches. What comes or does not come to your mind is irrelevant.
Waste of timeYou are not educated in the Near Eastern culture.
No that matters not so much. What God said and who believed it matters. What matters is what came to the ancient mind.
Not in creation week. No Jews, no temple there and not even any 'ancient near eastern people'.God resting, 7 days cycles, its a temple inauguration.
If they imagined a temple as you claim in the verse that said God created heaven and earth they were not so bright. I suspect they were fine, so who does that leave?Ancient people were not dumb, stop suggesting what I may think.
Maybe take a hint when people try to go easy on weak points.Maybe try to look deeper than just "the first commentary I saw".
Strawman. I never said that. I showed that we don't know what the word means. One of the meanings is dragon though and I think we all know who that is and how he relates to the end time.Feel free to explain why and how God will fight a literal dinosaur in the end times.
Who cares about a haplessly inadequate science that is cave man level when it comes to higher truth like creation and How God did things? God used real science. Man has not got there yet. Stop trying to limit the science God uses to man's foolish wisdom that is only falsely called science.I believe in creation, but not in Genesis 1 to be a scientific description.
Make a point from a source. The points you made so far, like how 'every' one knew that Gen 1 was talking about some temple or something are ludicrous. No arguments from you, just another series of denials. You should check the sources I provided for you and react to them, specifically.
I would allow kids to learn even if they knew no Hebrew and could not care less about it. When a letter is used in a word and a sentence there is context and meaning to it. Temples are NOT the meaning in Gen 1.For me personally I would not allow someone to start the first grade if they did not understand the Hebrew alphabet and what the letters represent.
Not really applicableDuring the 1,000 year reign I imagine that is the way things are going to be. A is the lead animal in a herd, B represents a tent or any dwelling, C represents a camel or trade, D represents the door and Jesus is the door. If you want to enter into the things of God than Jesus is the ONLY way because you have to enter in through the door.
Let's hope one appears here soon I guessYou think that somewhere are people that know what they are talking about? We are told that Jesus is the way, truth and the light.
Hebrew is the original language before God confused the languages.if they knew no Hebrew and could not care less about it.
That is what they teach in Bible school. That is not what the Hasidic teach. I think the 144,000 that will be God's witness and testimony during the tribulation are beginning to emerge now. When a letter is used in a word and a sentence there is context and meaning to it.
Nice hunchHebrew is the original language before God confused the languages.
Prove itThat is what they teach in Bible school.
They likely could be around somewhereThat is not what the Hasidic teach. I think the 144,000 that will be God's witness and testimony during the tribulation are beginning to emerge now.
He absolutely did.Jesus said nothing about historical accuracy.
