Can we know God?

Can we understand God?

Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

It would seem from scripture that God has given us the ability to know and understand Him and His ways. Jesus came to show us the Father... Do we beleive He accomplished this? I think He did! To say that we cannot know or understand His ways is to imply that Jesus failed.

Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father?

Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Are people missing it when they simply assume that God is beyond their understanding?
Pro 28:5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all [things].

I believe we can know God if we obey the commands of Jesus in the Spirit of Jesus. First we have to have his Spirit. Then we have to want him so much, in a stretched-out way, that we get in touch with our Spirit-led craving for his Righteousness, which is the person and mind of Christ. Then we ask for understanding, from the depth of our soul. Then we let the Holy Spirit within us control us. And then the 'knowing' of God will arrive. However, I believe the body of Christ, the collective body of his children, have not realized the depth and breadth of God's love, because we have not sought it with the same Spirit together. There is much, much more understanding and fulfillment if we ever seek the righteousness of God together.

Amen?
