i'm not cherry picking at all.
that verse has been covered many times, it was spoken to a crowd that were straying from the knowledge of Grace back in to law, it actually is speaking against relying on your works.

Since we can fall into different categories.

(1) Those by faith are covered by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

or

(2) Those who believe in self-righteousness either by becoming acquainted with the offering of the Holy Spirit and decided to put it aside, or those who have denied the Holy Spirit all together.

Which category of people are you referring to in the question above?

I see this verse from Hebrews used quite often. Often times, at least I remember when I was first saved and I had this verse put in front of me I stopped in my tracks.

Point is, I am a sinner saved my Grace, it doesn't mean I don't sin anymore, as a matter of fact, sin starts in the mind, just as Jesus says, you don't have to physically undress the woman, just the thought of such declares you a sinner.

Ok, I'm good with that, I am human after all, I have the Adam's seed within me.

Then comes Hebrews 10:26, ouch, Jesus already brought the realization of sin to the finest point, now if I sin again I am destined for Hell? Ouch, this hurts.

Here's the truth of Hebrews, reading Hebrews you will find the author is writing to Jews who are neck deep into the Law, (self-righteousness). The author is reminding them of the restrictions of the Law, and how Jesus Christ is, by faith, is far superior to the Law. You'll find 3 or 4 times,the author mentions the judgement that is going to be brought against them, then the author says...But we are not ones who turn back to the law.

Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.

Hebrews 6:4 Some people once had Gods light. They experienced the heavenly gift and shared in the Holy Spirit. 5 They experienced the goodness of Gods word and the powers of the world to come. 6 Yet, they have deserted Christ. They are crucifying the Son of God again and publicly disgracing him. Therefore, they cannot be led a second time to God.

The two verses above show the judgement of those who go back to the Law and all it's self effort. Now knowing that Hebrews is a warning of going back, we need to look at Hebrews 10: 26 -38 the same way.

For example, Hebrews 10:26 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.

After this he describes a fiery judgement, punishment ect. It really looks bad for the believer, the sinner after being saved.

Aaaaa, but as we get all the way to the end of Hebrews 10, we the believers in Jesus and Jesus alone as our sacrifice we can breath again.

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Hebrews 10:26 is for those, even today that are welcome to the church and the body of Christ, dwell within, feel the love within, yet, never accepts Jesus as the one true sacrifice.

So the question is, is our faith strong enough to stay in faith with Jesus Christ, or are we gonna be hit by one of satans fiery darts and try to go back to self works for our salvation?

I'm staying in Faith with Jesus Christ. Going beyond Hebrews 10 you'll find the absolute pleasure God finds in those who have shown Faith and the works it produced in Hebrews 11.

So what is the consequence to sinning habitually / being a slave to sin not repenting biblically speaking? Can you tell me ware it states any, or can we just sin Hebrews is the more obvious verse I use but there is definitely a lot more then the ladder. Here's a good one I'm sure is pretty plain. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 2 Peter 2:20 For your view on the meaning of Hebrews to me it is clearly speaking of the knowledge / understanding and how you can have no sacrifice for sin, my common sense tells me. Jesus is not case sensitive. Job speaks of the same understating and how it will be what turns you from evil job 28:28 clearly giving us the ability to turn from sin, as well as 2 Peter.

There can be no consequence salvation wise as that is sealed, all sins past , present and future must have been paid for or none were paid for, so either God is a liar and sins still exist or he is not and they do not.
Now i do believe it can effect your walk. the jews were disobedient and walked around for years looking for the promised peace of God, so if we are obedient I believe we walk a smoother easier path.

20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

we were slaves to sin, everything we did God saw as sinful but now we are set free from sin and we are slaves to righteousness, God sees all we do as righteous.

the church can say what they like about it, what i belive is shown by scripture as far as i am concerned.

It makes me smile when they say the blood pays for all your sins but you have to stop sinning, it makes no sense to me.

Can we fall from grace ?
