The other candidate ran as Bush part 2 you know.

At that point, running as "Bush the sequel", showed the other candidate was so out of touch with reality as to be scarey.

Doing it is one thing, but being dumb enough to say you were going to do it was clueless.

It got him the nomination. :D

So, I have to wonder about our Republican colleagues.

I know, which made all the "You have to choose the right person for the office!" stuff I was hearing even funnier.

They were the same candidate.

I think you are being hyperbolic to say that they would have implemented all the same policies.

Right because the things that Obama decried bush over, you know the war, the treatment of prisoners, invasions of privacy, massive spending... Obama has just gone so far out of his way to no do those things.... right?

And since McCain was nothing more than Bush with a different accent how again were these candidates different?

Did it happen often? I don't mean by idiots on the Internet. I mean in the real world.

It happened a few times with people at work.

After discussing why I wasn't going to vote for Obama it was insinuated that if he had been white I would be voting for him. They didn't respond when I asked them what it meant because I wasn't going to vote for McCain either.
