Can the devil or demons mark a christian? Like bite marks, cuts, burns or does that only happen in a demon possessed person? I have unexplained cuts and marks that I don't know where they came from but I don't have demons. Or does demons marking someone only happen in movies like "The Exorcist"? Or maybe I'm just losing it and don't remember getting cut or something?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you are truly saved you are one with Christ and sealed by the Holy Spirit. I see no evidence in Paul's letters (the ones that refer to the Body of Christ) that such can happen.

Though I do not understand the spiritual world, or pretend to. Before we look at the cuts we have as from the devil, maybe we did just cut ourselves and not know about it.
However, I believe that things like this do happen, if you truly believe this is what is happening, please see a pastor ASAP, and start praying!

How do you know the devil can not do that? One of the greatest tricks the devil ever did was convince people he does not exsist, maybe he is convincing you he can not do things? I am not saying he is doing this, but is it not worth praying about and going to the pastor to make sure?
The spiritual world is very active, and the devil knows his time is near, he will do what he can to bring many down with him.

I don't believe the devil nor other demons are going to scratch you or leave marks. If you are saved, the Holy Spirit has come into your body, and you are protected by Jesus Christ. The devil cannot touch you now once you are saved.
Now, look at those scratches in another light: what good would it be for the demon if they had cut you? We already know they're bad, but why should they try and prove it? More than likely, the cuts or scratches you have found have come from something else you've done and they have come upon you by accident. I know of numerous times where I've found scratches, skin roughed off, cuts, and I never know where they come from, but more than likely they have come from something I've done that day. I wouldn't worry of demons trying to harm you, Debbi.
If you are truly worried, there is only one thing to do: Pray to Jesus Christ and say "Jesus, keep the demons from me and hold me in your arms." Say to the demons, "Stay away from me, and do not tempt me!" You may or may not see less scratches or cuts, but at least you can put your mind to ease!

Sorry to answer a question with a question, but does the O.T. teach that people were sealed and indwelt by the Holy Spirit, the way Paul says believers today are? Or are you assuming they were?

If demons can't directly leave cuts and bruises, they can bypass all that and tell a preacher to hit someone hard several times and say that God told the preacher to do it? Or people who wouldn't know a demon if it bit them, they try to cast out demons that aren't there and leave bruises or even possibly killed someone and say that it was successful the demons are gone (so is the person)? So you say that demons don't take the direct route and leave marks and stuff on a christian but it is possible he use other christians to do it in God's name and it is just as bad.

I do not know about you but I think that I'll stand on that verse and thrust out my chest and say what M.C. Hammer coined "Can't touch this." As far as your unknown marks I for one can attest to the fact that I don't always know when I've injured myself until after I feel blood or see a bruise later. I think that it has something to do about turning 40.

We are Holy Ground, and Satan can not violate us. I do not think he can spiritually produce a physical injury, but because of sin we can be scarred both physically and spiritually because of his power if we put ourself with its reach.
