"Accepting" is neither explicitly nor implicitly found in those texts. We don't "accept" God. He is not waiting for our acceptance like the girl no one wants to take to the prom.

Jimmy Um again that's not right.
You accept God's ways or you dont.
No He is waiting for our Accepting like a Merciful God who is still operating under Grace.

Of course a man "accepts" God.
And some men do the opposite, which is "rejects" God.

Scripture uses the word and root word "accept" / "choose" in Gods receiving of "us'.

Scripture uses the word "election" / "choose" in mankind's receiving of God.

Try a thesaurus ~ accept, choose, elect, pick, decide upon...... are all synonymous.

God Bless,

Not to mention God has placed "IF" in so many areas of His Word.
So since there is an if that means we have a choice, we either accept His terms or we dont.

Accepting terms is not the same thing as accepting Christ. Words have meanings, so we must use them carefully.

You are talking about multiple things. I have been referring to only one.

Exactly! It seems that itty bitty word "IF" is too often overlooked by its readers.

It appears many set very restrictive LIMITATIONS for themselves.

Scripture teaches JESUS came to TEACH and FULFILL Scripture...BUT UH....seems many are ignorant, to the fact, that Jesus' TEACHING is repeatedly teaching mankind HOW TO, for the man himself to FULFILL Scripture!

That itty bitty word "IF" "should be" the GLARING "CLUE" for man to PAY attention to:
Because repeatedly "IF" a man does "such and such"..... HE IS fulfilling Scripture!
And "IF" followed by the "THEN" (ie the consequence) it IS pretty clear, which "IF's" a man should desire to fulfill!

Agree. Absolutely, we have a "choice".

God Bless,

jimmyjimmy ~ Why argue "your point" with FJC, when he is replying to me?
FJC can speak to me on multiple things, since he and I have already established a "like" understanding on several fronts.

Can or do or can, sinners get into heaven, that die in sin...? Does it matter whether they were sorry or repentant or not about it?, or do you actually have to "do away with" or put away all known sin that you know of that you do, or are guilty of...?

Comments...?

Peace,

God Bless!
For you 1 Peter chapter 4 verse 8
Love cover a great many sins.
But as far as wondering who gets into heaven, that's not for us to decide, read these verses.
James chapter 4
11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister[d] or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

You have no clue what you are saying here do you!!?
There is a huge difference between bringing scripture with biblical truth and just writing things trying to twist or turn the point to something else with things that hold no value.
Kind of like a politicianing me.

Details...?
Ok, so it goes like this......

Accepting Christ is:

Acknowledging that you are a sinner and therefore cannot go to paradise, heaven, eternal life etc.
Being ashamed of this sin.
Having a desire to be forgiven and make things right with God. Some people could care less.
Having a desire to follow Christ and have a life more like His.
Taking action by telling Jesus that you are a sinner, want to change, ask Him for forgiveness.
Giving your life to Christ... which means being in constant prayer and "doing what Jesus would do" and asking Him for guidance in your life.... AKA "let Jesus take the wheel."
Ask Him to come into your heart, life... whatever and take control.
Give all you have to Him... Not physically but essentially saying to Christ "what was mine is now yours. I will go where you want me to go, do what you want me to do. My feet are Your feet, my hands Your hands, my mouth Your mouth."

Basically, you have died to who you were before. You are a new person... Same body, same wife, same kids, same house, same job.....but, new attitude, direction and actions in life.

Then, you will be His and have eternal life. You will still sin, still have sinful thoughts, desires and do sinful things...

However, things will begin to change. Your desires will change, your cravings will changes. What bothers you will change. What brings you joy will change. Your swearing will probably stop. The way you speak will slowly change. The way you treat your wife and kids will become unselfish and more selfless.

You will begin to have more of a serving heart and desire...

That is the works that everyone talks about as being the evidence of salvation and a Christian walk....
That is the fruits and works that prove that the faith you had in accepting Christ is not dead.

Praise GOD we get no say in this. For me.. if someone hears the word of GOD as in Jesus came died rose for you.. they KNOW it.. they KNOW He is the only way.. yet reject it.. then no ( I am SO sorry Father).. they will never be with the Father. Yet there are SO many that have never heard right? What about them?

Jesus said.. if I had not come and spoken they would have no sin. Jesus also said if you were blind you would have no sin. You say you see your sin remains. So many are blind.. never heard seen the anything about the way the truth and the life. So a GOD that FAR surpasses man in ALL ways.. will judge and be fair and true..as He is. I do not believe.. in all my years 56 and the wonders I am so humbled to have seen heard.. from the TINY bit of Him I know SO FAR.. He came and died..left heaven.. became man.. He NEVER loses. He will do ALL HE can to save ALL. And He did. WE make the choice..

When I was about 15 I asked Him.. how can you sent all these people (forgive me Father) to hell? He came right back with "for God so loved the world, everyone gets a choice. How.. in what way.. no clue. But He left heaven..became man...so unlike us.. aka man He makes sure NO ONE get away.. unless that is what they wanted. Hard to grasp.. yet all those angels that feel.. they knew what they were leaving thats why there is no hope for them. They KNOW what they gave up. We dont.. we have no clue. Man makes it sound like many will be lost.. if thats mans view.. I am going with His...so have faith

Proverbs 14:12
There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.

Matthew 7:14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 7:22-23
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

It's not just mans view.

Why not...? How not...? What changes...?

God Bless!
The venom (sin) that kills no longer has the power of the curse as we look to the Jesus and the cross but don't go testing God for He is not mocked. You were bought at great cost.
  • John 3:14 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
  • Numbers 21:7-9 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
  • John 8:24 “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
So for the love of Jesus we don't keep playing in snakepits but set our eyes like flint upon Christ and His cross. It's when we take our eyes off Him that we fall into sin but He is ever faithful even when we are not.

In Christ, John 17:20

Peace,

God Bless!

lets look at some scripture...
Matthew 5:18-19
For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven

so that would mean this.. god gave us laws to practice so that we can be considered righteous and not only does the law do that... but it also shows us our own hearts... (we could talk about the "circumcision of the heart" here and it is somewhat part of your question actually or your answer i should say.) anywho no one but jesus has followed the law fully. it was that was part of his requirements to be a living sacrifice (pure innocent) now lets look at paul.... he has some GREAT and shocking text in here for these kinda questions...

Romans 7:18- 8:16
For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?
Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation--but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children....

Peace,

Any person who embarks on a careful study of God's holiness and comes to see more and more His incredible goodness, and righteousness, and holy purity will, at the same time, also come to recognize their own profound propensity for wickedness. As one sees God's holiness more clearly their own deep unholiness also comes into focus. Only those who have a shallow conception of God's righteous perfection think they can stand before Him in perfect sinlessness. The truth is, though, that no one who dies will stand before God without some sin staining their life. Most of our sin we don't even recognize as sin. We are too comfortable with it, to permeated by it within and without, to see all of our sin with clarity sufficient to cause us to confess and abandon it. And so, in that great host of humans that stand before God on Judgment Day, there will not be one, single person who does not have some unconfessed sin fouling them. Thank God, then, that it is Christ's perfect righteousness and not our own that gains us access into God's family!
