Hello,
since my birthday is coming up soon i would really appreciate if you would answer to this.
I have read about pagan roots of birthday cake and blowing candles. Does that mean i can't have it on my birthday?
Wedding rings have pagan roots too. I wear mine happily. I also eat birthday cake. Eat your cake. You are not using it for pagan purposes.

Doesn't the Serbian Church allow cakes?

It does not matter where a tradition comes from, it matters what it represents today. I have a brother-in-law who is Aboriginal, he does dot painting, a traditional form of art from his ancestors. Now he is a Christain and often does Christ-themed art. Sure in the past the art would have been used exclusively for spirit worship, but now he uses his tradition for a godly purpose.

In the same way, a birthday cake today represents a celebration of life, it has nothing to do with its past. The past is not important, it is what it represents today.
