i've wanted for a while now to turn my life over to god but i feel like the things i've done in my life are unforgivable. i grew up surrounded by and partook in violence against others, i'm actually in the middle of a court case which might put me in prison for 5-10 years. i've done things which have blasphemed god such as ripping up a bible and making antichristian jokes. i just recently started seeing a psychiatrist for anger and depression but is it too late to start a relationship with Him? if i sound desperate it is because i am. I am still pretty young and want to turn my life around early if i can.

It is not too late!!!

God forgives the blaspheming and even the jokes. All you have to do is ask. :)

It seems to me that you already believe. Without getting too far into a particular church doctrine about this, all you have to do is sincerely ask for forgiveness, and live the rest of your life for Christ. And yes, Christ definately can turn your life around, if you let him.

I think my thoughts pretty much echo those of the above poster. It is never too late, I think the only sin (correct me if I am wrong) that is mortal, is suicide.

Anyhow, there are many different ways to accept the Lord, however they all have the same content really. You pray to God, you ask for the forgiveness he has offered you, you bare your sins to him (you can talk about any you particularly remember, or just list the general nature of them, ie blasphemy, lying etc), as to be forgiven of them, thank Him for his forgiveness and close with your vow to let Him into your life and surrender it over to Him.

If you do that in sincerity, you can consider yourself saved. After that, it's about building a relationship with God. Learning about Him, adhering to his teachings and leading others to Him, through your examples. :)

I wish you all the best, I will pray for you and I hope your life is not hampered by your past actions and this court case.

God bless,
Digit

Anyhow,

Hey there..... Yes, the guilt is very real; it's not something you should shrug off - all of us come to the Lord with guilt upon us - and then He takes it off of our shoulders...... The Bible says that the One who knew no sin became sin on our behalf, so that we can become righteous. You talk about tearing up a Bible - the writer of more than half the New Testament actually went around murdering Christians before He met Christ - and God not only extended forgiveness to him - but inspired him to write words that still reverberate today!

thanks for the answers. i was just under the assumption that in defacing a bible i was committing an unforgivible sin. well then if i can manage to get rid of the guilt that i have then this will be easier to cope with.

Hi, I am so sorry for the struggles you are going through, and so glad that you desire or already have commited your life to Jesus.

Ripping a bible up is not a blasphemy.

WE all have pasts, very dark pasts, and there is nothing that you have done or could do that could ever separate you from the love of God, nor from salvation.

When you believed, all your sins, past, present and future were forgiven.

I will be praying for you friend, for leniency in the court case.

Also, regarding anger issues and such, we all struggles with these, to varying degrees in our lives. Anger itself is not a sin, but to sin in anger is. But again, we are forgiven. Not a license to sin, but it's the truth.

The violence against others is something that you will need to accept that God has forgiven you for it. It takes time to accept his forgivenss especially when we have strong feelings over it.

There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.

You may need counseling and help with these issues to come to terms with things.

However, in Christ, you are a new man, the old has past.

God bless,
tapero

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

"I will have mercy upon whom i will have mercy on." Exodus 33:19

"Ask and you shall receive." Matthew 7:7

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your Heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved." Romans 10:9

God be with you

It's never too late for God's forgiveness!

He died so that you could be forgiven - it's a free gift, no matter what you have done, He loves you and wants you to be close to Him!
If you have asked for His forgiveness, then you are a new creation:

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

Read the gospels, and pray that He will speak to you through them.

Bless you

I pretty much just wanted to echo what everyone else here has said. Your sin debt was paid in full at the cross of Christ. God is using your guilt to draw you to his Son. Just surrender and admit your sins, turn away from them (repent) and start a new relationship with God. The angels in heaven will rejoice over your salvation!

I just wanted to share one other thing with you...I'm not sure if you're too young to remember a serial killer named Jeffrey Dahmer. He killed nearly 20 people and even cannibalized them. His crimes were virtually unspeakable. He was murdered in prison over 10 years ago. However, I recently watched an interview with him where he claimed to have accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior after being imprisoned. There was no doubt in my mind that he was saved and is now in heaven with Jesus. If that doesn't show the depth of God's grace and love, I don't know what does. :amen:

The Good News:
It's not too late. You can pray right now, and confess Jesus as Lord. You can ask forgiveness for your sins, and they will be wiped away. Clean Slate. Forgiveness!

Isn't that amazing? Isn't that AWESOME!?!?! Isn't that beautiful?

So don't wait. Talk to your Heavenly Father now. If you don't know how, here's an example of prayer:

Dear Father, thank you for your mercy and love for me, while I am yet a sinner. I accept the salvation offered to me, through the sacrifice of your son, Jesus. He is my Savior, my Lord, and I love you for doing this for me. Please make my first thought every day, to be about how I can lead others to you. Please help me to grow in you, and give me a desire to read your word every day. Please help me to find the right church for me. I pray all these things in Jesus name, Amen. :prayer:

The Bad News:
There is none!
Hallelujah!!!!
Praise G-d for His mercy!

Please send me a PM and let me know when you have accepted Jesus. I want to celebrate with you and give thanks.

i prayed last night and this morning. i told God and Jesus that I want them in my life and that I am sorry for everything I've done to hurt them. It actually felt kind of weird and I felt as though I didn't exactly know how to say what I was feeling but I'm hopeful that that will get better with time.

Yay! Praise G-d! Welcome to the family, my new brother. Don't worry about how to pray right now, because G-d looks into the hearts of men and women. He see's what you want to say, and He will help you say it. Ask Him to help you pray, and then be quiet before Him and He will give you the words.

In Philippians 4:6 it says, Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God. Basically prayer is simply talking to God just like you would talk to your very best friend.

I will have the Admin folks change your icon to a Christian Icon, and then you'll be able to post in the Christian secton of the forums too. Please PM me any time you need anything at all... a friend to talk to, somebody to study the bible with, or somebody to pray for you. I'm here.

Bless you, my friend.

Praise God and welcome to the family. I hope you are able to find a church and get into God's word, that you may grow in your faith and knowledge of Him.
