Those all sound rather harmless .. do you know of any more serious examples of supernatural occult power?

True, but I did say "some" of those activities. I don't remember all of them to include in the list, and the fact that he decided to abandon such practices says a lot about how terrible those events were.

I just remembered another one whilst typing the above -- He would see demons and apparitions in his everyday life, and sometimes they'd try to hurt him or curse him out. These weren't something you could easily dismiss as your brain playing games on you or whatever. What he experienced were real and it frightened him.

You can search up countless other testimonies on Youtube of people who have experienced worse... Most of them are Christians now.

according to the scriptures they can guess and give extraordinary strength but no move objects

am i wrong

Yes.

Luke 9:42
42 And as he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him. Then Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the child, and gave him back to his father.

The NASB puts it even more clearly:

Luke 9:42
42 While he was still approaching, the demon slammed him to the ground and threw him into a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy and gave him back to his father.

As some have already pointed out, it is never recommended in Scripture that you occupy yourself with the demonic. You will find nothing of God in that direction. You are commanded in Scripture to look unto Jesus (He. 12:1), not the Evil One.

I don't believe they can move objects. By the way, I'd like to know the answer to a question I have. Why does it seem that miracles happen in the Bible all the time but not today, in my life?
I believe miracles stopped after the apostles, so did speaking in other tongues, healing, prophecy etc etc.
My reasons are as follows and also that I have never witnessed one per say.

Speaking in other tongues.
Speaking in other tongues is not jibberish, it’s a known language. The Tower of Babel was when God put different languages in the world, speaking in another language was for the spread of the gospel. The apostles had to speak in other languages because they were traveling with the word of god to countries who spoke different languages to them. The gospel today is almost worldwide and has lots of translations to accommodate different languages.
Gift of tongues (other languages) has ceased

Miracles of Jesus and the apostles.
Jesus performed miracles to show He was not of this world. He performed helpful miracles to show He came with love, compassion etc. Jesus and the apostles cast out demons to not only free people, but to show the contrast of good and evil. What Jesus brought was good, the curses of the world aka leposy, born blind, lame, mute etc are not from God, but from the fallen evil world we live in.
Coupled with that, if we had no miracles, I doubt anybody would believe.
There are no miracles today. People, even Christians who have 100% faith in Christ, can’t perform signs and wonders. Go to revelation and speaking about the anti christ performing miracles, signs and wonders. He performs these and people are deceived in thinking he is God. Now if we were capable of doing miracles, then 2 things could happen. Everyone would claim to be God, nobody would batter an eyelid at the antichrist who can do miracles just like we could.
Gift of miracles have ceased.

Healing,
Again, healing was good and it showed that Jesus and the apostles were the good guys so to speak. If Christians had the gift of healing, why aren’t we inside hospitals telling people on their death beds, lame, cancer, blind, loss of hearing etc to get up and walk out?? I’ll tell you why,
Healing has ceased.

Gift of prophecy
The gift of prophecy was and Old Testament gift given to prophets to bring the Israelite leaders, priests, kings etc the word of God. The Holy Spirit was not yet given since Jesus had yet to come.
Fast forward after Jesus had died and accended, the Holy Spirit was given. He will teach us all truth about The Father, The Son, and Himself.
There are no need for prophets today because if we are walking in faith to Jesus, we have received the Holy Spirit.
Put it this way, would you rather a pastor tell you a prophetic word from God, or the Holy Spirit aka God Himself tell you a prophecy from Him??
Most prophecies I’ve witnessed in church were the accumulation of knowledge from pastors from ones life experiences. There is no prophecy in that, it’s just empty words that most often times than not came back void.
Prophecy has ceased, we do not need prophets, we have the Holy Spirit

In the book of Job, Satan gave Job a curse of boils and cast down fire from heaven. So then yes demons can do things if God allows them to. My brother and I once saw a plate move across the table in front of us in a house that we thought was haunted. And he was lifted up out of bed by the poltergeist.

That said, I would say you have to be tough with demons, have courage and ignore them or cast them out.

Demons have been around a lot longer than us. They have a 6000 year advantage of knowledge about us. They know mankind better than mankind knows itself.
Demons know what ticks our boxes, they also know what upsets us, annoys us, makes us angry etc etc.
They rule this world, and look around you, everything that’s acceptable in the world is in complete rebellion to God,
That said, demons cannot interact in this world per say, they need bodies. They interact with the minds of man and it’s man who commits evil.
Please note that it is God who controls the devil and demons.
Jesus cast out demons
Job couldn’t be harmed by Satan unless God allowed him to do it.
So the answer is No, to your question, but rest assured a human that’s possessed, or his mind is run by a demon can throw objects lol

Mark 9:20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

This demon apparently moved something here, the fact the text says that it ofttimes cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him. If it could do that to a person, moving objects should be no problem for them either. As to me, I have never encountered objects moving on their own and hope to never. But that doesn't mean these things can't and don't happen though.

Never have anything to do with evil, but we are to be aware of who our enemy is. If it was just to focus on Jesus, then He, the Bible wouldn’t speak so much about Satan, fallen angels, nephlim, antichrist, the beast, the dragon, give us battle armour Ephesians 6, etc etc.
We are not to interact with ouwji boards, tarot cards, the occult etc, but we are to be aware of what we battle against

In the Bible: Exodus 7:8-12

The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "When Pharaoh says to you, 'Perform a miracle,' then say to Aaron, 'Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,' and it will become a snake."
So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD commanded.
Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.
Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts.

Each one threw down his staff, and it became a serpent.
But Aaron’s staff swallowed their staffs.

Never have anything to do with evil, but we are to be aware of who our enemy is.

Of course. The apostle Paul, speaking about the devil, wrote, "...we are not ignorant of his devices." (2 Cor. 2:11) We ought to know that the devil is a liar, a deceiver, a destroyer, a counterfeiter, and a usurper. We need also to know that he is a defeated foe. It might be helpful to know, too, that he works often to puff up our pride and isolate us from godly influences. But beyond this, there is not much else that needs to be understood about him.

If it was just to focus on Jesus, then He, the Bible wouldn’t speak so much about Satan, fallen angels, nephlim, antichrist, the beast, the dragon, give us battle armour Ephesians 6, etc etc.

I'm not sure what the "it" is you're referring to here. In any case, believers are commanded, as I pointed out, to "look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith." (Heb. 12:1) No one has ever become more like Christ by being preoccupied with the devil. In comparison to what the Bible says about God, and Christ, about holiness, faith, wisdom, obedience, etc, what is said about the devil, demons, nephilim and so on is next to nothing. Follow the example of Scripture and keep your focus upon the One who truly matters.

Agree, we can never become like Jesus if we’re looking back at Satan and his schemes. I was making a point about knowing the tactics of Satan.
Although Satan is a defeated foe, and we are children of God, Satan can stop you from being a servant of Christ. As you said, puff you up with pride, isolation, depression etc.
All of which stop us from serving Christ effectively.

Sounds like a poltergeist you are talking about? Are they demons or human spirits?
Stop talking complete and utter rubbish!
As a Christian you should know a few things
1 human spirits once passed into death and hades cannot interact with the living.
2 poltergeists are ghosts and only exist in films. Your watching too much television.
3 If anything, it’s a demon and demons cannot interact with objects. They can mess with your mind, haunt you in dreams, enter your house, sit on your chest whilst you sleep (demons and sleep paralysis) posses bodies.

It’s a serious subject and one should know who they are and what they can do. Also, one should know what they can’t do. They can’t do anything outside Gods will and if you think I would serve a God who allows demons to come in my house and throw a few cups and saucers around the gaff, He has another thing coming. That said, He doesn’t, never did and I’m 100% certain He never will allow that behavior.
Down with that sort of thing.

Of course, they can move objects. The Kingdom of Darkness has its own demonic power. There is even greater power when we walk in the Kingdom of God's dear son (and it is far better to research).

If we sought Christ like the occult seeks the demons and the devil, we would see the power of God. :)

I’ll agree with it has its own kingdom of power but by God if demons could interact the way you say they can, we would all die. The enemy comes to seek, kill, and destroy. If demons could interact with our physical world in a physical way, well,
I tell you what, see what your imagination could contour up.
Here’s a few of mine
Plates flung at our necks, decapitation
Driving along in my car, it suddenly becomes a plane
Eating my dinner, fork through my eye, knife in my ear
Using an angle grinder, oops,
Having a shower, shower cord around neck, how’s it hanging,

Use common sense now lads, use common sense
I know America is gripped in the paranormal, but none of that has ever happened in Ireland, so what makes ye so special / unlucky?

The devil only has the power that He is given...Christ has already made a spectacle of all the powers of darkness (Colossians 2:13-15), if we would just chase Jesus (and not sin, and the devil)...we would see it.

I was merely satisfying the OP's curiosity. :)
