Can Democrats replace Biden as their nominee?​

The short answer is, practically, there probably isn't.

All 50 states have already held their primaries, and Biden has won the vast majority of their delegates. Only Biden himself can direct those delegates to vote for someone else, as they are pledged to vote for him unless he drops out before the Democratic convention this August.
This is where practical and political challenges merge:

Biden is the only one who can decide if he wants to drop out before the floor vote. No secretive party apparatus or individual can direct him to do it.

Biden has not just all the delegates he needs, but essentially all the delegates, period. So practically, there isn’t anyone that could be swapped in at this point, and according to DNC rules, these delegates are bound to support Biden during the first floor vote of the DNC.

They cannot unless they abandon the sacred principle of "democracy" they have been preaching so hard about while trying to defame Trump. "Trump will destroy democracy if he is elected." Now, here they are. They will have to remove their own duly elected, incumbent candidate and demolish democracy in the process. Millions of people in their party have voted for this man in primaries and the last general election... and now they are going to ignore their rights under this democracy. Amazing.

The BBC has something to say about this. In summary, yes, it is possible for Biden to be replaced with another Democratic nominee, but sadly, that is highly unlikely.

Well, I can not speculate about Biden's health (if he will pass away over the next few months), nor the future of each candidate, as that goes against James and Proverbs. But, I can tell you that 2024 will be a disaster. Gavin Newsom is not a good guy either, and Kamala is difficult to understand, as her words just fill the air with not much meaning. I do not know about the third choice though.

I Agree, after Aug 22, 2024 and the DNC taking place it all becomes slim to none on a change, the pressure on removing Biden from the democratic ticket will be over the next 7 weeks before Aug 19, 2024

IMHO the Trump/Biden debate was pre-planned so the democrats could have a foundation to remove Biden, they knew well he was a disaster in the polls, and his mental and physical abilities are gone

The past year the democrats have watched their voting base flee the democratic party, I don't think there is a fix at this time the damage is "DONE", the writing is on the wall
