Can Creationists justify not being Flat Earthers?

Good points, BlackDog. Plus, those arguing against evolution are entertaining unsupported theories about how Scripture was supposedly written. For example, the alleged inerrancy of Scripture is simply a human-made, fallible theory or about how God is related tot he writing of Scripture. Based on the numerous contradictions in Scripture alone, it is unsupportable and should be dropped. The reason some refuse to do is that they they have made an idol out of the Bible and engaged in bibliolatry.
I want as many as can be to come to Christ, but I want them to come to him on their own terms and not apart of a forced curriculum. People need to be moved in the heart to truly come to Christ and I don't think you can force that, especially when you would have those who don't believe in the background talking against it because they were forced into it.

I agree with your points about scripture and evolution. I don't agree that the bible should be dropped. According to some Christians, they would turn into uncontrolled rapists and murderers if it wasn't for God's laws. Seriously though, I think the spirituality helps some people, and they, and our society, are better for it. My hope is that the moderates who provide excuses and cover for the extremists stop. Of course, that's not easy, and I've caught myself supporting atheists regarding things I personally disagree with, just because I'm an atheist. So do as I say, not as I do! Lol

I agree. I was raised in the church. My grandfather was a Presbyterian pastor. I was raised in a fairly conservative atmosphere. Even though it was very mild, compared to what some have been through, I didn't like it a bit, because I like to think for myself and check things out. I attended a church-related college, and one of the things I enjoyed is that we were encouraged to question and challenge authority. I my own theology, I emphasize personal experience as the ultimate test, a healthy skepticism about tradition, and openness to other religions.

Well, I have heard that before about God's laws. But I am not really convinced by that. The OT does condone slavery, the killing of innocent first-born children, genocide, emphasizes a take-no-prisoners attitude, and a host of other cruel practices and behavior seemingly all sanctified by a God who can be absolutely draconian and blood-thirsty in what he does. It's a semi-barbaric people, with a semi-barbaric warrior God sanctifying semi-barbaric behaviors. That's not exactly the place I would look for moral guidance.

Again, I'm no expert in evolution, but I can see that you clearly don't understand the theory or the evidence that supports it.

That's what makes science so powerful: It's self-correcting, and keeps improving theories as more and more evidence comes in.

The fossil record clearly shows that mankind was on earth prior to 11k years ago.

Correction: The sons of God (prehistoric people) who were NOT Humans (descendants of Adam) have been on Earth for Millions of years. Their bones were identical to Humans but had the intelligence of animals. They were too dumb to write their own History and that is WHY we call them prehistoric.

Humans were made from the dust of the ground on the 3rd Day. Gen 2:4-7
The sons of God (prehistoric people) were made from the water on the 5th Day. Gen 1:21

Today's "so called" Science has mistakenly called them Humans but they CANNOT tell us How or When they magically changed from animal to Human intelligence. Amen?

You are making an arbitrary line. Mankind has progressed, and occasionally backslid, throughout our history. Instead of "writing their own history", I could make the line "making all information instantly available around the world", in which case mankind has only existed for a a couple of decades.

Sure, but I don't believe that. You'll need evidence.

Nope, we don't know exactly how the brain works. Buy saying therefore God did it is "The God of the Gaps Fallacy".

Looks like Black Dog, Ahh and Hoghead agree. Wonder if ANY of them can tell us How to go to Heaven?

The Ozark Mountain Daredevils can! Dang, that was good album (not the "best of", but the original), one of the best for a relaxing Sunday morning. I can't imagine anyone finding this blasphemous, but if you do please PM me and I'll take it down.

I hope you enjoy Aman, they make really beautiful music imo:

Thanks for your reply. As an atheist, do you wonder WHY your fellow posters cannot answer the question of how to get to Heaven? Do you think it's because they don't know? Perhaps it's because they aren't music lovers. Amen?

Or maybe a couple of thousand years?

I gave you God's Word on it. Can you tell me a better source?

*** Nope, we don't know exactly how the brain works. Buy saying therefore God did it is "The God of the Gaps Fallacy"

I agree that the God of the Gaps is one of man's vain attempts to explain what they cannot understand. It's the SAME with Godless Evolutionists who CLAIM that Humans evolved their superior intelligence from dumb animals. The difference is that Godless Evolutionists are teaching little children that their unsupportable ideas are Scientific Facts. I suppose they don't know of the terrible punishment awaiting those who "offend" little children who believe in Jesus.

Were you force taught that you are nothing but an evolved animal as a child?

You climb to the top of Mt. Olympus -- Wait, that's something else... you cross the Bifrost Bridge... Drat! that's not it! It's the second star to the right, and straight on 'til morning.... No, wait; you follow the Yellow Brick Road... No, that's not it.... when you reach the cave, you say, "Open sesame..." Um... X marks the spot?

Sorry, were you making a point here?

The only thing I see is that agnostic and atheists don't run and hide but those who would have us believe they are experts in religion do. Can you tell us WHY?

Sure I can but someone with the extensive education some CLAIM should be able to tell us but when you ask them, they disappear. Amen?

You believe that "extensive education" = omniscience?

No?

Then you didn't make a point, I'm sorry to say.

That doesn't even pretend to make sense -- you're not running or hiding...

I was speaking of the guy who was bragging about his extensive religious credentials in college and then posted "I my own theology", and the guy who ran away because he didn't agree with me because I don't preach ancient theology to his liking. Now, you come along with your reverse thinking, which makes me think of running away from this thread myself. I would but there are too many fun characters here. Amen?

Maybe he didn't run away; maybe he fell asleep.

Rest assured, if you run away, there will still be too many fun characters in here.

Since I just spotted him on another thread and he was still spewing his foolishness, he's not asleep. It appears that he doesn't know how to get to heaven or he would have told us. I send many like him to other threads with the same question. Amen?

Noting that you still haven't answered it yourself.
