I never said anything of the sort, and I stank at history Here I thought Pr wars were primarily defensive, retaliatory. 30,000 killed as witches, w/ not even any RC involvement? *shudder* Can't we at least blame it on strife caused by RC for starting the mechanism of war?

Not to derail the thread w/ the OP or anything, but 147 to 25?!? I think whoever's saying RC outnumbers all Prs combined has to be using more than just a little fudge factor

I wonder what Jesus would say as he read through all of these posts and felt the discontent we have with each other. Are we not all Christians?
I have been Christian my whole life but as an adult am seeking the truth. What I mean is, I don't just believe everything I read or hear. I try different views to see things from more then one side. Sometimes it is amazing to see how similar both sides of a coin (or problem) are yet they oppose each other.

I must say, I am a little disappointed to come to a Christian forum and find such discontent. It is actually what I fear the most. I fear that in fighting among ourselves, we will lose a little more Christianity each day. I think of the song "They will know we are Christians by our Love." Sometimes I think it is hard to spot a Christian from a non believer. Should it really be that way?

but anyways, there are a lot more Catholics then Protestants, over a billion catholics and just about a half billion protestants

Jesus may have commissioned Peter at primus inter pares at the beginning of Christianity. But even so, the influence of Paul was much greater. Jesus did not state, that Peter should have successors. Since we have a canonical Holy Writ and the creeds, the see of Peter may be obsolete. What we need is a reconfirmation of the truth from time to time by a world concile. This world concile should include the leading denominations representing 90-95 % of Christianity. Nowadays, we need a world concile to take position on many issues, like reconfirm the teaching concerning life protection (abortion), true marriage (does not include homosexuality), and the restauration of our Jewish roots, the implementation of the unity of Christians based on the fundamental landmarks of Christianity, as defined in the Hoy Writ. The consensus of the majority should pave the way of Christianity in the 21st century.

Is that the same council where Orthodox went looking for help against the Turks and the Pope wouldn't give the help until we surrendered to Catholicism first?

The council you are talking about was the Council of Florence. At that council the Eastern and Western Bishops agreed on the theological issues and ended the schism.

It was the people in the east who rejected the authority of their Bishops and continued the schism.
