There are some atheists who don´t believe in anything unless it´s proven by science. There are also those who say they don´t believe in anything unless it´s proven, but they actually do.
And on what do you base this assertion? You act as if blind credulity is a virtue to be admired and emulated. I don't think it is, rather it is something to be pitied. Think of all the people who swallow anything anyone tells them. Unscrupulous con artists have made an industry of exploiting people's belief in the supernatural. You have faith healers, psychics and mediums all making out like kings, and doing it because people believe.
Need more examples? How about Jonestown or the Comet cult? The Millions of German citizens who voted for Hitler. The millions of Americans who spend great deals of money on worthless homeopathic remedies. No, Blind credulity is not a virtue. It's a character flaw.
As for prayer, I'm sure some atheists do pray, all the same it seems rather silly to me.
