No evidence is required. We have faith. It is accredited to us as righteousness. Blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe!
Okay, fine...
Since no proof is required, just faith, then I'm becoming a Muslim. By your standards, they are just as credible as christians.
However I do, and the Bible as God’s word says Satan masquerades as an angel of light, 2 Cor 11I do not believe that being a Christian requires adherence to a particular doctrine
That’s not persecution, that’s inappropriate use of freedom of speech, thats not worse to many people than a gay pride march or festival such as Folsom Street. I think you have to come to terms with the fact that different people have different ideas.Reverend Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church persecute gay people by picketing the funerals of gay men who have died of AIDS.
Well you judge him if you wish, all I am prepared to do is judge his views, which I think are basically Christian with regards same-sex sex being sin, but not that God hates anyone, that is as fundamentally flawed as believing same-sex sex is ok.Most Christians, of course, do not agree with Fred Phelps' statements, and many regard him as not truly a Christian. But he considers himself to be a Christian, and he claims that he is upholding God's word from scripture.
if faith is all that matters, and evidence can go suck a lemon... how are we to tell what is heresy and what isn't?Faith in God through belief in Jesus Christ is what you need. Don't go from one heresy to another.

yes, but how is Hindu faith different to Christian faith? We have the word of God and the witness of the Holy Spirit to guide us, and alert us of error...plus we have the fellowship of the faithful to exhort, teach and warn us.
yes, but how is Hindu faith different to Christian faith?
without evidence, how do we know which is right?
I have faith that Christianity is the "right" religion... but evidence-wise? The Hindus got as much as we do.There is no power in Hinduism to regenerate a person to become like Christ. There is no salvation in it. Jesus is not in it. It is a dead, demonic religion, that believes in millions of gods. There is only ONE TRUE GOD.
You should know that as you claim to be a Christian.

Um... well they have as many scientifically observed miracles as we do... and you don't have evidence of a risen Christ, only faithWhere? What is their evidence?
We have the risen Christ. We have total mairaculously changed lives, and many miracles, to boot!

Because you say things that are undefensible... and if I'm going to be on the side of the right, I want to KNOW we are right... rather than hide behind sanctimonious ranting...Jesus was raised and walked this earth for weeks. His body is gone.
I know Him personally, and you claim to also. Why do you argue with people whom you are supposed to be agreeing with?
whats in the Bible doesn't count as proof or evidence of anything.I'm sure miracles happen to Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist peoples as well. We all have the same God, ultimately. (Personally, I believe that the Gods and Goddesses of other faiths are Angels.)
They have their faiths, we have ours. The only "hard evidence" we have to bring upon as proof is what's in the Bible, and what's in our hearts.

but how do you KNOW?So you not know that Satan transforms himself into an angel of light? His works mimic that of God sometimes. We must be more vigilant than you are revealing yourself to be.
Yes, other religions and many of those believed to be gods and goddesses are angels---but they are fallen angels! Demons.
Yes, what we have is the only evidence we need to know the truth. One God, and one way to Him--Jesus. All else is a lie, and brings with it damnation.
but how do you KNOW?
oh... so THATS why the simplistic Biblical literalism... its preferable to the terror of having to work things out for yourselfThe bible talks about this stuff. It is either God's word or it isn't. If you don;t believe it, then you can never be sure of anything. If you do believe that God has given us His word in writing, so we can read and know Him, then you KNOW.
Knowing Christ, and having His spirit living in me, I can know that what I hear, read, or see is error, by knowing the word and that His Spirit confers with my own and He tells me.
It is a knowing like none other.

again... no evidence, only faith supporting that conclusion...We work things out with Jesus--it's a sure thing. He's the King.
