What I do not agree with is that demons can make us commit sin. They do not have that power. Also, I have issues with this theology because it shifts the reponsibility from the person to demons. If a person has a problem with lust, boom, just have a deliverance and cast out the demon of lust.

Churchboy,

I agree with you that not every sin a Christian commits or has the habit of committing is the result of some demon. Sometimes, like you say, it is just our flesh -- for "no good thing lives in our flesh". So, a lust problem may simply be our unwillingness to put our flesh desires under the control of the spirit.

So to say that every sin is caused by some demon is one extreme. BUT likewise to say that NO demon can ever cause a Christian to sin is the other extreme, and simply not true.

That said, usu, when there is a bondage, a sin that one simply cannot break, I believe there are spiritual forces at work as pointed our in Ephesians. :prayer:

Andrew,

I think you may have misunderstood my meaning. I may have chosen poor words. If so, I apologize. I wasn't trying to say that demonic influence are never the cause of sin. I was trying to say that demons can only tempt us, lie to us, and decieve us. A demon can never force a believer to sin against their will. Demonic influence is strong throughout the world. Just look at all the evil stuff on TV, movies, and music, etc. It is when believers believe and accept the lies and deception from demonic influences that they walk down the dark path of sin. Our battle is against spritiual forces and Ephesians tells us how to combat these forces, by putting on the Armor Of God. Only the Armor of God can protect us from demonic influence. Praise God!!
