  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How many calories is safe to burn during pregnancy? I use to go to the gym just about everyday before I found out I was pregnant. My doc said I cant lift more than 20lbs and limit the amount of cardio. I can do bikes, swimming and tredmils. Before I burned atleast 700, 800 at the gym. Oviously I know that would be way to much.. Ughh I feel so flabby because I havent worked out in about 2 months :sigh: Im going to go back on monday..:pink:

Basically if you could do it before pregnancy you can do it during pregnancy. Here are some tips on exercising.

You should be consuming an extra 300 calories a day during pregnancy. So as long as you account for getting the extra 300 calories then you can still continue to burn the amount of calories you did prior to pregnancy. Here's some nutrition info for you.

I'm not sure about the number of calories because I've never monitored how many I burned at the gym. But like yours, my pregnancy is high risk and I've had to limit exercise. Actually I've been really inconsistent because we keep having complications:doh:. I monitor temperature (to the extent that I don't sweat excessively), and make sure my heart rate doesn't get above 140bpm.:)(I hate that part). So basically I jog, or the equivalent on a cross trainer. But I've upped the amount of time I spend doing it, perhaps you could do that? Make it less intense, but more of it? Now that I'm nearing my due date all my body can really handle is a brisk walk.
