What I'd be waiting for is Colin Baker to show up on the New Who. Is that what's gonna happen?:D

what have you been really waiting for all these years....;)

actually, any real answer must necessarily contain the words:
  1. Tom
  2. Baker
but right now I am avoiding all of my usual WHO sites and sources like the plague to avoid spoilers.

Ack, I haven't been waiting for anything all these years except for them to bring Colin Baker back...he didn't want to leave, he was forced out. :p Since that ain't gonna happen, the only thing I was hoping for was to see the entire seasons coming out on DVD collections rather than one at a time. And I doubt that's gonna happen any time soon as well.

I like my doctor male, so I couldn't care less if he became a she (might be the first time I'd stop watching since I have always identified the Doctor as a male persona). I wasn't all that crazy about Tom Baker (he was good but not my favorite) so I am not waiting for him to return. Hmmm...I have no idea....

Had a weird moment yesterday. My son gets the kids Dr Who mag and yesterday's issue had a Dr quiz book as a freebie. As a laugh my 17 year old daughter thought she'd ask me a question, "what's the home planet of the Slitheen?". Without missing a beat I answered, "Raxacoricofallapatorius". The look on her face said it all, her mother has finally lost it! 'Who' geek? Probably. But Chic? Certainly!!

Yeah my office think I'm mad...though my boss did secretly confess to owning a remote control Dalek.

If you could say where the Jagrafess came from that would be really impressive!

If you dont like spoilers dont check out the other sites...especially the UK ones!!!

Hi!

Just dropping in. Doctor Who fan since 1973 and Jon Pertwee.

Favourite Doctor: Tom Baker
Favourite Companion: Sarah Jane Smith
Favourite Episode: The Green Death

Love Tennant as the Doctor - a more traditional Doctor than Eccleston (who I liked but who was slightly different to what we have normally had).

Great to see the show back and so successful. Doctor Who winning BAFTA's? Never! :)

Are you calling my bluff? I did have to consult with my 11 year old son on this one but we believe that the planet and race of the Jagrafess is unknown. His full title is, of course, the Mighty Jagrafess of the Holy Hadrojassic Maxarodenfoe, or Max for short. Do you know something we don't?

Now up to my armpits in geekiness.............

And no Dr Who tonight:cry:

Hehe! I'd heard a rumour that David Tennant coined the phrase 'Geek Chic' to describe himself so I was kind of trying to apply it to me too! If you could see me you might think I really had lost it^_^

The phrase is way older than his use of it.

I don't doubt it, but I think it describes him so well that it could almost have been made for him!

By interviews I've seen/read with David Tennant, he's a Dr Who geek from the Tom Baker era. It must feel like a childhood dream come true to land the role himself.

You are so kind!! Actually I have intermittent geekiness. I'm pretty geeky on the new Drs Who but though I vividly remember watching the older ones as a child my knowledge is patchy. My parents only had a TV occasionally, finally discarding the demon box over 30 years ago never to allow one house room again. On the whole, can't say I blame them. But it has left me deprived of geekiness about the earlier stuff (unlike my aforementioned son who watches as many DVDs as he can and is gradually attaining general all-round geekiness; should I worry about him?). The rest of you on this thread have amply demonstrated your superior knowledge.

So now we are like little Oriental men politely bowing to each other:bow:
