I understand you think that his teachings go agains the bible, I was just curious as to which ones exactly.Lewis' teachings go against The Bible's teachings, at least for the most part. There are other Christians who are unhappy with his teachings.
I could not answer this as i no longer have the books, and i can not remember. I am not happy to read books where even some of the teachings go against The Bible's teachings. The Bible is my authority and NOT Lewis' teachings.I understand you think that his teachings go agains the bible, I was just curious as to which ones exactly.

I have read Lewis' biography, and i for one , refuse to read any of his books. It says in The Bible to be aware of wolves dressed as sheep.
It says in The Bible to be aware of false teachers and false teaching. I have read enough in the past on Lewis, and i have read some of his books . I choose now to no longer read these , and to warn others. It would be wrong of me not to.

So, Drifter, you want to warn us all the Lewis's teaching go against the Bible, but you cannot remember which of his teachings did so, or, apparently, which Biblical teachings Lewis disagreed with.
Hmmmmm. Since you cannot remember what Lewis had to say that was wrong, it seems a little irresponsible to declare that he is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Ephesians 4 said:14As a result, we are (A)no longer to be children, (B)tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by (C)craftiness in (D)deceitful scheming; 15but speaking the truth (E)in love, we are to (F)grow up in all aspects into Him who is the (G)head, even Christ
From what i recall , Lewis tends to be vague, and not give a clear gospel message. He seems to like speaking in riddles. After reading his biography, it was unclear as to whether he was really born -again.
Lewis writes in Mere Christianity, "Finally, though I have had to speak at some length about sex, I want to make it as clear as I possibly can that the center of Christian morality is not here. If anyone thinks that Christians regard unchastity as the supreme vice, he is quite wrong. The sins of the flesh are bad, but they are the least bad of all sins. All the worst pleasures are purely spiritual. The pleasure of putting other people in the wrong, of bossing and patronizing and spoiling sport, and backbiting; the pleasures of power, of hatred. For there are two things inside me [ ] they are the animal self and the diabolical self; and the diabolical self is the worst of the two. That is why a cold self-righteous prig who goes regularly to church may be far nearer to hell than a prostitute. But of course it is better to be neither."
Does anyone agree with Lewis? If so, please provide some support.
I think that each generation of Christians has produced some amazing thinkers, apologists, and theologians, who are called to clarify God's Word against the specific attacks of that generation. Whether it is the ECFs writing against the gnostics and the heresies of the first centuries, or Augustine writing about the City of God, or the writings of the medieval mystics trying to explain how God draws close to them in contemplation, or the modern writers fending off everything from rationalism to The Da Vinci Code... God has sent men and women to explain in the voice of each generation, and to edify the body of Christ.I think it is wrong to worship Lewis, as is the temptation i fear for some Christians.
I agree totally.Lewis writes in Mere Christianity, "Finally, though I have had to speak at some length about sex, I want to make it as clear as I possibly can that the center of Christian morality is not here. He had Anglican roots (church of England) and I dont recall any of his books supporting purgatory. I remember that the foreword to Mere Christianity mentioned that Catholics would not neccesarily agree with much of what he had to say.I believe that Lewis had Catholic roots. I think that he believed in purgatory. Purgatory is NOT Biblical , and is , therefore, a false teaching.
if you notice the very last sentence that Lewis says here, and I believe he is covering his back
'but of course it is better to be neither'
Lewis knows that bottom line in the eyes of God and by His law, the prostitute and the cold self-righteous prig are both committing sin in need of forgiveness.
