  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Bye bye nappies (diapers)

I think I can pretty much say that my dd is toilet trained (except at night) I really started to train her last week, (she was ready, she is 3 1/4 and was saying "no more nappies, I'm not a baby anymore" etc. etc.) so I just said OK then, no more nappies (except we did have them for out and about) then Monday she totally refused to wear them lol. So OK, that means she has to go to the toilet while we are out, not just the potty. So we were doing that, but at least once day she was still having an accident. Today was her first day without one. I know that doesn't mean we are totally done (I don't think she anticipates she needs to go just yet, she is going when I tell her and not taking herself off to the toilet yet) so maybe no accidents today was a bit of a fluke I don't know.

But she is so proud of herself I just had to share.

Congrats! And I applaud you for waiting till she was 3 to do it, we've done the same. When they're ready. We've been diaper free for 2 months now. That's sure nice since we had 13 straight years of diapers.

Woah - so how many kids have you had?

I had one in nappies for 3 years, had a 6 month break, then had dd.

7 from birth for me, plus a stepdaughter who was six when I met her mom. I hate calling her my stepdaughter, her dad was never in her life and has passed. She's my daughter! :)

Yep, not bad. We kept our eldest in nappy pants at night for a while after she was trained. We really didn't want to put any wet bed pressure on her at all. Like yours, she did it all her self.
Then tonight, our youngest, now 19 months, was getting ready for bed. I had taken off her nappy but did have all the clothing ready for her. So I put her on the floor, told her to go to the potty and do wee wee. You can imagine my utter amazement when I got back from getting her clothing to not only be still sitting on the potty, but having also done her wee.
