Maybe we should start with cleansing. What does the OP mean by cleansing?

It is not personal, you don’t see the correlation between faith and cleansing, even through scripture says “cleansed by faith” so there’s
nothing I can say but to direct you to Christ... So in the love of Christ may He grow Himself in us..

God does the conforming. One thing is does is to prune, which isn’t cleansing. It’s pruning.

But let’s look at where cleaning is actually discussed.


Jesus said to him, “He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.”
— John 13:10

Notice that there’s no progression. We are completely clean.
