1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:and if it first begin at us,what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
what is judgment? what is the meaning of this verse?

It is saying that the church gets judged first. Though i don't see how that
changes the final outcome anyway. It doesn't say.

All humans are tested so as to their allegiance to either the Creator or self worship.
Not sure if anyone can be like 99% spiritual and only 1% fleshly but you are expected to be up there. If not...if you have tons of scars from a life filled with sins then you might be in serious trouble.

Thats what I see there anyway

Dear littlestream. What is Judgment? What does God want from us? In Matthew 22: 35-40: Jesus tells us: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it:
love thy neighbour as thyself." Verse 40 tells us: " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
God is Love, and God wants loving sons and daughters. Matthew 7: 7-10: tells us: " Ask and you shall receive," we ask God for Love and Joy, then thank God and share all love and joy with our neighbour. ( neighbour is all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends) The Holy Spirit will help and guide us, and Jesus our Saviour will lead us all the way: JESUS IS THE WAY.
The Bible tells us: " Repent and be Born Again", we give up all selfish wishes and wants, and start loving and caring,
be kind and always give a helping hand. We will find that people are treating us, as we treat people. Love is very catching, and love and compassion will overcome all obstacles, and prayer will help us to be overcomers.
We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on loving and caring.
Love will be a great weapon to overcome all wrongs, and soon this imperfect world we are living in, will change.
We have to make up our minds, follow God`s Ways for us, OR GO OUR OWN WAY, which will lead to Outer Darkness.
I say this with love, littlestream. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

It means the righteous are judged separately and before the unrighteous are judged. We see that played out in Rev 20 with the dead saints judged and resurrected long before the unsaved are resurrected and judged.

A better translation is: 12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. 17 For it is time for judgement to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” 19 Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.

Peter is writing to persecuted Christians, saying that what they suffer is God's disciplining, and a refining fire (as in Malachi 3:1-3).

In fact, Peter is suggesting that it's the beginning of Judgment Day (starting with the Christians), and that when God gets around to dealing with the unbelievers, their fate will be much, much worse. This means that Judgment Day (what Malachi calls "the day of his coming") has been going on for about 2000 years now, building up steam, so to speak, for the final instalment.

Paul says something similar in
1 Corinthians 11:32: But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world. The "disciplining" of Christians is now, but the "condemning of the world" has not happened yet.

From Handel's Messiah: But who may abide the Day of his coming? And who shall stand when He appeareth? For He is like a Refiner’s Fire. And he shall purify the Sons of Levi, that they may offer unto the Lord an Offering in Righteousness. (Malachi 3:2-3)
