I can understand your comment given the current state of who most people hear when it comes to the Christian voice, but I'm hear to tell you...MOST Christians are not of the fundamentalist denomination.

Well if you don't consider yourself a fundamentalist Christian, then aren't you conceding there must be something wrong with Christianity in general?

Of course you are. Think about it.

Your comment makes zero sense. Do I find anything wrong with the FUNDAMENTALS of Christianity..no. Do I find anything wrong with FUNDAMENTALISTS...absolutely. The two are VERY different. If I were to believe that "fundamentalists" represent Christianity..then yes, I would say something is SERIOUSLY wrong with Christianity, simply because for the last couple of decades, Fundamentalists have become more of a radical political party in the US more than anything else. Anything in extremes is not good. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

Do you take the fundamentals of Christianity literally? Such as virgins giving birth, dead people coming back to life, food magically multiplying, a man walking on water unaided and water turning into wine? Or do you take such stories as just fables?

You see, UIC, I do not consider any of the fables of Christianity to be truth at all. If you believe these things are true than it is you who doesn't make any sense at all.

Hey, now, watch it. I'm on the gays' and secularists' side here, but first of all, I don't much care for your rather demeaning tone with regard to my most deeply-held beliefs, and secondly, if you want to challenge the basic tenants of Christianity, then I'd urge you to take this topic up on a more appropriate forum (General Apologetics).

No hard feelings, I assure you, but there is a time and a place for everything, and I fear that this is neither the time nor the place for that particular discussion.:)

I think you better watch it fella. I'm not being demeaning in any way here. I'm just stating what Christianity teaches, i.e., the fables I've described, go it? If you can't handle a little criticism or a difference in opion, then maybe it is you who has a problem handling the truth.

Do you really believe those things literally happened? if you do, then I think you have a problem telling truth from fantasy. As for the GA forum, I cannot post there yet since I am new here and don't have sufficient posts yet.

I have no problem in hearing a difference in opinion; what I do have a problem with is A, your demeaning tone, and B, the fact that this isn't the proper forum for this discussion.

Now, I'm trying to be nice here. I would recommend that we leave it at this and you take this argument to the appropriate forum.

I have to admit that I might have gone a little off topic but this is a discussion forum is it not? That said, I agree, let's drop it and kiss and make up. (smack) that was a nice big wet one! ;)

no one sin is greater than any other sin.

Im going to hell bc I'm a cigarette smoker.

Do I still love God and Christ? Yes. Nothing can change that.

Focus your love where it matters. If you're worried about what someone's sexual organs are doing, you aren't loving them in Christ's name. Christ didn't judge the lepers or wrongdoers of society, He loved them just as much, and He never shut His doors to anyone. Yes, He told them what they needed to change, but never rejected them until they did change.

Umm... Yes, I do take those instances literally.
Its a God thing.
It would be illogical to think God was as limited as man.

The way I see it is that sexuality refers to feelings.

Feelings change.
Feelings to individual people, perhaps, but there has been no verified case of someones innate gender preference being truely altered. Suppresed, sure, but never truely changed.

i think its refering to knowingly contributing to your death (slow acting suicide) - but he might get lucky and not die of smoking related thing (could get hit by a car) and then he can get into heaven.

no, I don't think I'm going to hell for anything. =) just to clarify.

The Bible says one cannot get into heaven with humanly imperfections about them, as one must shed all human-like imperfections before one can be in the presence of God.

Since our bodies are temples for God, I cannot get into heaven because I have tar-spots on my lungs, and nothing can change that. My temple is FOREVER unclean, and no amount of prayer will ever change that, so, according to the Bible, I cannot get into Heaven.

But I don't take the Bible THAT literally like many radical fundamentalists do.

God wants spiritual fruits. Not religious nuts. =)
