  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I voted for Mr. Bush both times, and would again if it were possible.

I believe history will prove him out as it did Roosevelt and Reagan.

IMO, he is a good and decent man who is very strong in his beliefs, both political and religious. The sheer fact of the number of delusional people who outright hate him kind of reinforces the fact of how strong he really is.

God bless George Bush!

Ahhh... and just to think.... come mid year 2008 we get to see all of those great positive ads that will be running incessantly on TV...

I didn't vote for him because he claimed to be a Christian. I voted for him because I thought he was the better candidate. His legacy will be that he too failed in Iraq just like his father did ....

do people vote for bush beacuse he is a christian? I dont realy see an insperational leader in him.
I was voting against Kerry, not for him.
I think one of his biggest faults is that he doesn't seem to willing to admit that he is wrong. His last speech where he admitted some fault was a big step for him.

Not sure, but I can sure as heck tell you that I'm sick of the war and him sending, what was it? Another 21k troops over there? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I didn't watch, just heard it from a friend a couple of days ago.

Americans are going to loose the war in Iraq not because of misguided leadership or a poorly trained and equipment army. Fact is, it appears to me, not even because the enemy is stronger. The U.S. will loose the war because the man on the street has come to believe that they can walk out of Iraq as they did in Viet Nam and turn the country over to their enemy without any ill effects to the U.S.

I don't think that is the case. Playing around as the States has done in the last wars they were involved in will come in time to haunt them. Down the road the enemy will be with in the U.S. borders and the war will rage in the Streets of New York, Washington etc. because the voters of the U.S. tied Bush's hands as they did Johnson's.

The war in Iraq helps the Iraqi little man, and protects the U.S. citizens by keeping war across the sea.

We all need to hope and pray that the next president of the United States in not Hillary Clinton. God have mercy on all of North Americans and the world for that matter if she is.

Whenever he praises God in public in front of millions of viewers, he is glorifying God. That being said, we don't have to agree with him in all matters of politics. I personally think it is refreshing when I here him talk about prayer and God when it is not the "politically" correct thing to do. The secular media hates it.

I kind of like how Ergun Caner (president of the seminary here at Liberty) said it in THEO 201 last week. Something along the lines of he hopes hillary becomes president soley for the sake of the American church. He believes (and I agree) that looking at history, great revivals only came during horrible times economically for the united states and other countries. God has to bring us to our knees before he stands us up.

Well you can think that, I mean I don’t “hate” him, I just cant vote for him. If he would move to stop abortion in the US I could vote for him maybe. But he has not, he obviously thinks abortion is a good thing. He thinks a one world order is a good thing. He thinks forcing Israel to give land for peace over and over again without any "peace" results is somehow a good thing. He thinks big government is a good thing. There are many more things he does that leads me to having never voted for him. It’s just incredible how people make him out to be like the Messiah, but he seems closer to the AC in regards to many of his actions.

Btw this isn’t an anti Iraq war post, only objection there is that Bush seems to be agreeing with the left-wing flaming socialist lying media every time they whimper. [sarcasm] Oh yes George! Global warming is really real, too! [/sarcasm] he agrees with EVERYTHING he hears now a days! He just wants to please everyone now, but leaving a good portion of his party out in the dark to do so. He is no Reagan, never will be, though Reagan had his problems of the day, Bush is simply mad though not as insane as Clinton!

Thanks for allowing me to think that, I'd just like to point out that there is no-one that fits your outline. What candidate promises to outlaw abortion? When did Mr. Bush speak about creating a one world order?

Who do you support?

ranyhyn,
Bush 1 sure did NOT fail in Iraq. His only purpose for the war was to drive Iraq out of Kuwait after Iraq invaded Kuwait. It had to be done because Iraq's next stop would have been Saudia Arabia.

And yes, it was about oil. And that ain't a bad thing.

Amisk,
As a proud American, I must agree with you. Our fighting men and women are as skilled and tough as they come. But we citizens are a weak-WILLED bunch. Many of us do not have a sense of REALITY. Islam wants to control the World--and they will do whatever it takes. We want our 5 Minute wars that we see on the movie screen. Those of Islam understand victory takes decades, if not centuries, and they are willing to pay the price.

I don't know how this mess is all going to turn out. But I know this: Bush's legacy will read, "He was willing to stand up for what he believed, and was WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE."

Well you can think that, I mean I don’t “hate” him, I just cant vote for him.
He is not up for reelection ... no one could vote for him.

If he would move to stop abortion in the US I could vote for him maybe. But he has not, he obviously thinks abortion is a good thing.
The way the legislative procedure works is that the president either signs or vetoes bills that come through congress. He can champion causes and try to get you fired up to voice your opinion to the proper Representatives to get a bill passed, but he has as many votes on that bill passing as I do (none). As to him " thinking abortion is good" what is the whole fetal stem cell issue about and his threat of vetoing any bill that would put public money into research along those lines.

He thinks a one world order is a good thing.
Where is this supported?

He thinks forcing Israel to give land for peace over and over again without any "peace" results is somehow a good thing.
The land for peace crowd was Madam Albright and the Clinton crowd. To my knowledge the Bush administration has only asked both parties to honer the commitments already made.

He thinks big government is a good thing. There are many more things he does that leads me to having never voted for him.
So I assume then you voted for Al Gore and John Kerry? Or did you just opt out which is the same thing.

It’s just incredible how people make him out to be like the Messiah, but he seems closer to the AC in regards to many of his actions.
I see no one seriously making the claim that he is like the Messiah, just his detractors making it to look like his followers think that. If we as Christians let the world define us we would all come off as the AC.

He is not a Reagan ,,, Reagan was a leader of a movement, Bush is just a Christian trying to do a job.

I imagine that is a primary reason for some. I do not personally know the man's faith well enough to judge its authenticity. As it stands, I'd much rather have a professing Christian in office than a non-Christian.

I dont realy see an insperational leader in him.

What type of inspiration are you looking for? Is it a spiritually inspirational leadership that you see lacking, or something else?

God bless

I imagine that everyone is "sick of the war." Some just feel it is necessary despite how sick of it they might be.

I'm curious, do you think our presence there is appropriate at all or is it just that this is a difficult conflict that causes you to call the military leaders assessment of the need for more troops into question?

God bless

Wow...the political musings of a 16 year old sure are deep.

Both of those gentlemen had very strong bipartisan support. Pray tell, if not Roosevelt, Reagan, or Bush, is there any U.S. President that you think did a good job?

Kennedy was good. Thing is Regan wasnt very big on briton america relations. So if you want to go back to his system then you will have all the world hating America rather than just some of it. You seriously think America could have gotten away with invading two countries by itself with no support?
