Those who visit many of the forums; do you notice how few Bridge builders there are? Why do you suppose that is?
Would there be a bridge from earth to heaven if Jesus had not built one?
Why are we so timid to reach out one to another and seek for ways to build the bridges between believers?
Baptism is the thread with the most posts it looks like.
Lets hope we are more willing to find our planks of agreement than to not build because of competition of who lays what where.
Our foundation is Christ, that is a sure foundation.

You read my mind. I believe that christians are divided because of sin. Eventually they will come back together I dont know how only that it will be the will of His Spirit.

Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, if you believe in Jesus you are my brother and sister in Christ.

That is our one place of agreement. Jesus Christ is Lord!

I remember the thief on the Cross who turned to Christ and said "Remember me when you come into your kingdom"

This thief was not a good jewish boy who knew the law and prophets. He said earlier "we are rightly condemned for what we have done but this man has done no wrong" In other words he was a thief and not a theologian.

And what did Christ say to him?

TODAY YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE

And isn't that what every one who calls themselves 'Christian' want?

And look it took no great learning or theology or anything but a simple request.

Yes Jesus is our one place of agreement. And its the only place we need.

I think the thief , our brother now with Jesus, would agree.

Those who are perfected in holiness and virtue were saved freely and not by the works of righteousness. Since salvation is effected in the believers "not by the works of the law that no one might boast" (Galatians 2:16) according to the divine apostle, works are not necessary. I mean fastings and vigils or rigors and hunger and thirst. Indeed, I am emboldened to say neither fastening the body with irons nor afflicting it with hairy skins is necessary. Such things are nothing at all, since even many criminals and those who are poverty-stricken suffer these rigors but still remain the same people and do not free themselves from evil nor do they ever improve." (St. Symeon the New Theologian --Eastern Orthodox theologian 949-1022 AD). [emphasis mine]

The bridge builders are becoming a rare breed, at least here in the United States. Opinions are becoming more and more polarized, whether the discussion is faith, politics, philosophy, or any other world view. Rather than understanding other perspectives, people are more focused on convincing them away. The lack of activity in this Moderates forum is telling too... I will admit that I don't check in as much as I should because of its inactivity. But I'm glad to know that there are other bridge builders out there helping people in other areas of the forum.

May faith arise, as we remember, we are not building this bridge alone.
As StarsDeclareHis Glory has said, 'it's the will of His Spirit.
Many brothers and sisters are in union with the risen Christ. All in agreement that the prayer Jesus prayed is our prayer also. Father that they many be one as you and I are one. The bridge of faith is strong among us. Serving a Lord that speaks and hears His own. Blessed resurrection day to all who have taken the time to post.

I like to consider myself a bridge builder. I've replied and started threads in just about every denominational forum. It's a good way to get a feel of the dominate culture with in each one.

The bridge building will continue regardless. God’s Word states about the kingdom message “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”. Will his word return void? his purpose unfulfilled? No; even the stones would cry out to prevent that! (Matt. 24:14; Isa. 55:11; Luke 19:40)

I often like to say when debating at our small group, that all of us are saved, yet we don't quite have the same beliefs. Some people view things as black, some as white and others see the grey areas. The key here is that we all still believe, and thus should be accepting of other Christians who also believe, but might see things in a different colour. Jesus reached out to all kinds of people, and we as Christians should try and emulate this. I consider myself a bridge builder, I don't force my faith or my views on anyone and I try to understand why people believe certain things in the way that they do.

I keep trying to post a fellowship thread on a less than conservative sub-forum within a denominational forum but the conservative branch keeps wanting to post derogatory replies against CF rules. It's rude and immature.
