Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Evil?

I have watched buffy since it started and it hasnt givin me the urge to participate or do any of the things performed in the show. so i do not think that it interfers with my walk with god

Mamba, you don't need your friend's permission to watch a tv show. Just don't watch it around her and don't try and force her to watch it.



Homosexuality is a part of our society. It is there, it is fact, so deal with it.

And it isn't sending a message that homosexuality is cool, it's merely sending the message that it exists.

It's sad how much you let your hatred of gays affect your life.

I know this will earn me lots of contempt, but I don't watch Buffy anymore because of the witchcraft and lesbian issues in the show, and I used to be addicted to that show. I think it gives a message to a lot of people that these things are okay, as the heroes pursue them. There are many problems with demons and the occult, but none of them are solved with God, instead they are solved with witchcraft. There is never any mention of God. I find it hard to believe that Sarah Michelle Geller is a Christian, though I admit I have no right to judge her.

I also love Buffy. The past shows have shown that actions have consequences (i.e. Buffy sleeping with Angel, and he turned all evil.) My Brother in Law was the one who insisted I started to watch Buffy-- he is a very wonderful Pastor. Unfortunatly, it doesn't have mention of God in it because the creator of it is an athiest. I think Joss Whedon is extremely talelented, and I've prayed for him to be shown God's love.

I still will watch it and order the DVD's. It's fiction and I see it as fiction. It doesn't hurt my walk with God at all.

As long as you keep it as entertainment there is nothing wrong (usually). If you start to try to do the things they show then you're falling for evil.

So this weak brother, for whom Christ died is destroyed by your knowledge. When you sin agianst your brothers in this way you wound thier weak conscience, you sin agianst Christ. Therefore, If what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat agian, so that I will not cause him to fall. 1 corinthians 8:6-13

There is a BIG difference between hatred of a person and hating a sin. I have a gay friend. I think that him being gay is absolutely wrong, and he knows that, but I do not hate him at all for it.

We all know that homosexuality is abound in this world. It's not big secret. It's not necessary to publicize it to the world to make it known that it exists. That's pointless. However, if the attempt is to make people "tolerant" of it, then that is a different story. That's just corrupt. But then again, welcome to the world.
