  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So,can you view the CF characters correctly on Firefox?
Their cothing isn't dancing on other people's posts?
And what about the advanced reply box?Does it work like it should?
Can you view the Custom User Title fonts and their glows and shadows?
These are all problems I've had with Firefox.:p

Well I _really_ don't mind about not having all these things ...
I prefer to have a browser that is performant, w3c-compliant, does ftp (correctly and fastly, not like IE or FF), ssh, file browser (again, correctly)... than to see avatars move on the posts on CF ... that is really not something I care about ...

To me, both IE and FF are late as multitask broswers when compared to Konqueror and Nautilus (I don't like Nautilus though, since I can't bear gtk ;))

I'll have to admit mozilla/firefox for me displaces faces and clothes of characters. I guess for me I just hate the weirdities of IE when working on web sites. On mozilla/firefox/etc. things tend to work as expected and when I flash on over to IE i get weird things that actually should display the same but IE will do something like make an endline character an actual bit of whitespace beside a spacer gif that makes the space equivalent to a letter's height or something weird like that. That and numerous crazy little bugs with width percentages and everything else seems like it would be enough to unnerve someone?

*jaw drops at the omniweb's website....* oooooh the features!!! PRAISE G-D, THE FEATURES!!

Ok, so when I can get my powerbook online again, i'm definitely getting that. wowza.

The sad thing about having a Mac with Safari and pairing hat with CF... is that you can't do that easy formatting of the text... like highlighting a while paragraph and hitting "bold". it doesn't make that whole section bold. IT just sticks the tag at the end of your post. GRRR on that.

I'm using firefox on my windows desktop and I love it because it's all about TABBED BROWSING. So if any of your neat windoes based browsers BESIDES firefox can do that... let me know. PM me, in fact.

Opera can do that and a whole lot more without the recurrent security problems...:)

I use Firefox 99.9% of the time. Very rarely I use IE when a site doesn't recognise Firefox - says I need a later version of Netscape!.

But generally if a site doesn't recognise Firefox I just leave it and try somewhere else on the grounds its just demonstrated it's a rubbish site.

I was amazed just how popular Firefox is from looking aty the poll - admittedly a small sample of people.

I use Avent most of the time other than that, I use Opera, then Foxfire, and IE as a last resort. I despise IE though. It is a relic of the past. Never tried Konqueror, camino, or safari.

I you use Avent, I doubt you'd be able to use Konqueror, Camino or Safari on the same OS.

Camino and Safari are MacOS browsers, while Konqueror is a Linux one, although I had it work under MacOS aswell.

I use Safari at the moment because I am very recent PC -> Mac convert. :D Previously though on my PC I used FireFox. At first I installed FireFox on my new Mac, but then I realized that Safari has tabbed browsing so there was no need. And you gotta love the bookmark bar as well as hotkeys. :D

So 63% of respondants to this poll said FireFox. Is there any way to get the server stats from CF?
Oh yeah, I.E. here. I have FireFox at home, but every time I turn around it wants another download to do something. And I've never been able to do online banking with it. So I haven't even opened it up in 9 months.

I'm generally a Firefox fan whether I'm in Windows or Linux. I use Internet Explorer basically if I'm forced to. :D I have used and do use some of the other browsers more associated with linux. Still I prefer Firefox over them all.
