I was sitting on a cliff with my head on my knees
In the darkness,
My hands touching my forehead,
The moon’s light reminding me another day has past.
I’ve been up on this mountain for too long.
My black wings rest,
Memories of my past fill my mind,
Overwhelming me as I began to tremble and weep.
One of my wings bent from the struggles and fights in life,
I stand on my two feet,
I open my wings,
Then I jump off the cliff hoping to fly,
My broken wing causes me to fall,
Fear comes upon me,
If I reach the ground it will be the end of me,
All I wanted was a chance to be free again,
Unable to breathe,
I cry out "SOMEBODY CATCH ME!"
I close my eyes as I'm getting closer the ground.
I felt someone’s arms wrapped around me.
I open my eyes and it's a beautiful angel,
Not with black wings like mine,
But she has beautiful strong white wings,
She's the most beautiful creature I've ever seen.
Her face glowed with light,
Her eyes captured me and made me smile,
She saved me from my death.
We land on the ground,
She gently puts me down,
I then sit on my knees and cry.
When I look up she's gone,
I cry for her to come back,
But she never does.
The night turns to day,
I feel a tingling feeling on my wing,
I look at my wing and it is like new again,
Yet it’s stronger then before.
I raise my arms up in the air,
I look up to the sky,
As the sun beams on my face,
And the wind touches my skin.
I turn around in circles,
Then I run, open my wings, and fly away.
I’m finally free.
