• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone is free to make their own opinions on my above statements.

My opinion is that you seriously need to learn what evolutionary theory really states. Please consult some good scientific sources. If you got any questions after that, feel free to ask them here. ;)

Occasionally. Do you really want to argue that one with me? Cuz, I can win this one based on Scripture.:)

No, I was just wondering if "bending the rules" was allowed for any rule. Although I am curious as to which rules scripture says can be bent and which can't. But I wasn't intending to debate anything.

Laws are given and should be followed. However, before anyone can follow a law or a rule, the intent must be understood. Jesus was forever telling the religious leaders of the day that if they understood the intent of the law, then, they would have no problem with Him. For example, they taked junk about the disciples not washing their hands. Jesus told them they were white washed tombs. Pristine on the outside, rotten on the inside.

Rules are meant to be bent, as in, mercy should be given if possible.

God says that all that sin must be destroyed. God also shows mercy. Things are rarely black and white.

Agree?

Does that mean Christian automatically? Couldn't he just be a deist or Jewish? He could even be agnostic. I suppose definitely not atheist, though.

Ed Vidence has participated in debates with us before. And gap theorists are usually (though not always) Christian. The correlation between creationism of any form and Christianity is a strong one.
