How does this "Zeal" differ from the "zeal" that has one formulating a doctrine that removes the personage of the Holy Spirit, for the lack of a personal greeting?

I'm not proposing new doctrine, merely my opinion and belief. To my way of thinking the lack of personal greeting is overwhelming evidence supporting my position.

Could someone tell me what was the purpose or meaning of the transfiguration ???

Luke's account has Jesus, Moses, and Elijah discussing Jesus' impending death while the disciples slept, so the meeting might have been mainly for this purpose. It is curious that James and John (the 'sons of thunder') were chosen to witness it along with Peter. Jesus may have brought them along to corraborate Peter's later testimony to the other disciples that the event actually happened. This in accordance with the 'witness' precept in the Law.

If we were speaking strictly from a modern (Human) Western perspective, there may be cause to look further into your "position." but this alone in no way over turns the scripture that establishes the deity and personage of the Holy Spirit.

To represent it as such is to speak where the bible does not.

I hope you will agree that this very debate has raged for centuries.

Truthfully this is the first time I have ever encountered it.

That actually surprises me. The trinity doctrine was probably the most devisive issue in (Protestant) Christianity, although the two positions seem to co-exist peacefully now. I personally have no strong feelings about it as it isn't a 'salvation' issue.

[FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']The purpose and meaning of the Transfiguration can be understood in the context of the following 6-step development beginning with a partially successful basic instruction initiated by Jesus for his disciples; followed up by an advanced instruction for three disciples; and completed with an intensive 40-day rehearsal to all disciples (twelve minus one); and successfully applied by the disciples on the eve of the day of Pentecost (Matt. 16: 13-28; 17: 1-13; 26:64; 27: 50-56; Acts 1: 1-5; 2).
